2018, where someone can say this exact quote as if it is a bad thing and it seems like at least a third of the people agree. Sorry, but that fact freaks me out a lot more than the damn cost of Mores beer.

I respect your opinions on a lot of things about beer from posts on this site, but I don’t understand why this seems to bother you so much. You make it sound like you think expensive on site beer from two small brewpubs in Villa Park and Elk Grove Village are gonna make Old Rasputin and Breakfast Stout go to that kind of pricing.

Breweries are supposed to think about providing ME cheap yet high quality products, not the $3M loan they need to pay down.

I really do think maximizing profits at all costs is greedy and a negative aspect of capitalism. Obviously I do not think capitalism is inherently evil or anything like that though. That's all I'm trying to say; I'm not trying to raise up the proletariat on a platform of affordable pastry stouts or anything.

I just don't like how much the idea of exclusivity in beer has proliferated in the past several years. It is an idealist viewpoint, but I just like to think of great beer as something we can all enjoy without being priced out by breweries or beaten out by profiteers and hoarders with legions of mules. The beer scene has gotten a lot less friendly, a lot more cutthroat, and a lot higher stakes since I got into it, and I just don't like it. Maybe it's just me; maybe I'm just an old man who can't deal with change.

As someone else said and you touched on, it probably won't affect the embarassment of riches that is already sitting on shelves here in Chicago, so I admit perhaps I overreacted. I just don't want to normalize this type of pricing by supporting it, so I won't. I know it'll sell out with or without me, and that's just fine, more power to those who want the beer.

I feel like I came across as more confrontational than I meant to. None of this is personal to me, and I didn't mean to imply that it was. I appreciate the compliment a whole lot, and of course it is reciprocated; I have a lot of respect for most people on this forum, especially the Chicagoland ones, and you are no exception.

Ultimately, I just don't care for the sentiment behind the pricing, which, as I said, seems greedy. I don't expect More to be philanthropic, I just think there's a happy medium between giving the beer away and what seems to me overpricing.

Sorry for ranting everyone, and again, thanks for the compliment, Chuck.

They are handing out tickets with no numbers and a disclaimer at the bottom that says a full allotment or any allotment for that matter is not guaranteed. Why?

My guess is the tickets are for the henna count. No guarantee is for the other beers.

    Because More cares, obvs

The unnumbered ticket thing is awful. Mikerphone does this right -- nice big numbered ticket. More doesn't and the cutting is rampant. Hell, even color-coding it so that every group of 100 or 200 people got a different color ticket would kill the cutting.

Can any kind soul report on if they’re still giving out tickets? I assume so, as they haven’t updated Instagram. But you never know.
