This is shocking to me because I have this happen every major ticket release, beer or otherwise.

It happens all the time with high demand stuff, whether it's breweries like More, Toppling Goliath, Bottle Logic, etc., or tickets to concerts and sporting events. It's an intense process that requires a lot of refreshing over and over and over...and don't stop until it says "Sold Out".

This is the best way (in my opinion) to release bottles. No hassle of waiting in line and now I'm going to bring in a group of buddies to go with me, have lunch and beers on draft. Win-win situation for everyone. Lol to everyone thats pissed off.

    I’m so mad!

But not about not getting tickets or anything beer-related.

I thought we had a major bomb drop yesterday on BA from Bell's...only to have More say "hold my beer".

while I wasn't able to land a ticket this time around, I am very very glad they are doing the releases like this now. it means i might actually be able to get a bottle of More stout now!

I think the only potential tweak they could make is announce tickets will go on sale at a certain time in the future, so that people can be aware of it if they want. I was lucky in that I saw it in this thread right away and could have purchased tickets if I wanted to. But that was pure luck.

So, maybe they announce it in advance in the future but yeah, in general, this is one of the best methods.

Crap! Stupid work! I love this way to release, even though it’s the first henna I’m not gonna get

You just gotta add a zero to the retail price and you can get a bottle.

You think that telling people in advance would help in what way? The website crashing more? Sold out without an advanced warning, so why would they need to advertise the on sale?

Agreed with others, though. It's a great way to release. I'm on a PC all day since I work in IT, so I'm always available for this kinda thing.

Glad its showing as "sold out" now. Co-workers were starting to wonder why I was mashing F5 repeatedly for the past 20 mins.

Obviously from More's perspective it doesn't matter if they announce it beforehand or not. These bottles are going to sell no matter what.

I just think it's a little bit more fair to people trying to buy if they announce it before hand so at least people know when they will have the chance.

I see what you are saying, but there are always going to be more people that want to buy than there are bottles, and I feel any sort of advanced notice will only tip the ratio even further in favor of people rather than allocations. All notice will do is ensure it sells out faster, that the website receives a much heavier traffic load, and since more people will fail to get bottles, more people will be angry on social media...speaking of which, More's Facebook is, as always, hilarious.

A disadvantage is that it allows for people to round up their mules in preparation. I'm sure there were still plenty of people who once they purchased their bottle today were calling up significant others/friends/coworkers/anyone to try to get a 2nd bottle or even more. But I think the silent release approach today spreads it out a bit better and does a better job of keeping any one person from egregious hoarding.

I get both sides of it, and I think we're arguing, in my mind over the 1A and 1B methods for how to do this. I think I feel bad for the people who are huge fans of More, or the specific beer, who are just now realizing they missed out on it. Maybe I'm biased because I don't use any social media. But like I said, I did get lucky and see this early enough to buy tickets had I wanted to, I passed.

I think ultimately it will sell out in minutes/seconds anyway, regardless of when it's announced, so why not let everyone take a chance at it?
