Maybe the lack of information will help tone down the level of shit show?

I would like to go check it out, but things are most likely too crazy for me right now to make the trip and I'll probably have to wait a month or more before getting over there. However, the lack of information really isn't stopping me.

If there is no food...then just have a few beers.
If there aren't beers available to go...then just have a few beers.
If there aren't a ton of beer available I like that are up my alley...then just have a few beers.

My biggest hesitation regarding this, and bringing out of town friends there this weekend is to just have a few beers, how long will we have to wait for said beers? My non beer-nerd friends arent going to enjoy waiting in lines for IPAs. I will probably have to wait a couple weeks as well, unfortunately.

I have a friend who was in there last week and he said there was still a lot to be done. I'm sure they are hustling for the open this week. I would expect 5 beers, no stouts.

Yeah, the line to get in/wait for beer is the big drawback for sure. That plays into why I'm not going...not enough time to dedicate to possibly waiting around for a long time while I have other things to do for an upcoming move, family time, etc. There will still be beer in a few weeks/months...if not, I didn't miss out on much!

For those whose worries are about the lines, you can go and gauge it, and if it does look like a long wait, just take a small drive to Lombard to Noon Whistle. That way your trek out wasn't a waste haha

I'll probably wait a week or two and go on a weeknight since it's almost perfectly equidistant between work and home.

    Hey guys!
Sorry we haven't updated with any specific details yet, we just want to make sure everything is ready before we announce. As of now though, we will have 3 beers in 4-pack cans, so long everything works out tomorrow. We'll do limit one 4 pack of each beer per person (so potentially a 12 pack) and hopefully can occomodate over around 500 people if our canning run runs smoothly. cans will consist of a NE Pale ale (Dusty), a NE Rye IPA (Chemical Connection) and a NE DIPA (Loose Candies). Those will all be on tap as well, plus a american wheat (bunny bear) ale and a saison (anything but sassy). We'll have a couple kegs of a apricot wheat and a chai spiced saison as well. We're probably going to limit crowlers for the weekend to make sure we dont run out of beer completely. The line will be cash only so we can move it as fast as we can, but there'll be just one line, so even if you don't want cans... you gotta wait to get in the tap room (i can hear the cries lol). As far as food, we'll have a limited menu over the weekend and then a full menu starting Monday. Watch for a update tomorrow on our FB once cans are filled and in the cooler. Again, sorry for the lack of clear communication, just dont wanna promise anything until we know for sure.

    Cheers, everyone!

Here's hoping! It's 2 miles from my house, so I shouldn't be complaining, mostly just trying to determine if this is something the wife would enjoy.

Thanks for posting Shaun - super-helpful. Glad to hear you're setting low limits to start. Excited to see the new place!

I'd expect just like most new places, there will likely be growing pains as staff get comfortable, particularly with the operational aspects. The one line approach will be interesting to hear reports on. And even the most experienced staff will get a bit flustered when upon the grand opening, the hordes come filing in chanting in unison, "Haze! Haze! Haze!".

Pretty sure the current beer release formula is Arrival Time = (Opening time minus 120 minutes) minus 3 days

Cash only. I honestly think it will be fine. The only reason the line wouldn't go fast is if the the tap room hits capacity. If you only want cans you should be fine.

Given that it's opening day and on a Saturday no less, I think it's pretty safe to assume that the tap room will hit critical mass. So then if you just want cans, you're pretty much at the mercy of those leaving.

Agreed. This isn't a knock against More, but there are bound to be some hiccups. I'm happily putting my FOMO aside and letting them iron out the kinks for a few weeks.

I see what you are saying. I'm not sure what they should do. If you want cans and also want to drink in the tap room you can't just let those that only want cans to cut to the front. But i can see why they would only do one line because i would prefer not to pick between cans or tap room.

To clarify with one line... if the taproom is at capacity, will the line still be moving for ppl that only want to go options?
