More Darkness on the way

South Lyndale had some a couple hours ago. Probably will have some in the morning.

 

There was about 4-1/2 cases at Andy's Crossroads in Rochester at about 5pm tonight.

 

Gotta love South Lyndale

 

South Lyndale is a great location. I live in the SW corner so it is not one of my "once a week" spots, but when I am over there I like to hit France44 and S.Lyndale. Good selections, and I have only had good experiences with the staff.

 

It's my go to for sure. It's the closest good store to my house.

 

Just remember they don't support Sunday Sales. They also believe their customer base doesn't want Sunday Sales either.

 

An interesting tidbit I did not know, but I am not sure that it will change the fact that I like going there. They have a great selection. I would not go someplace that has a smaller selection just based on principle.

*I think I will be more apt to share my opinion with them when I am in, try to help them understand that some of their customer base does support Sunday sales.

Unfortunately you may find that many liquor stores don't want Sunday sales either. Lately I've started asking them when I stop in because I was curious if the objections that legislators are citing were true. So far Four Firkins is one of the few I've heard from that are in support. The small independent stores may be opposed to Sunday sales, but they are probably looking at it from the perspective of their business model, not because they don't appreciate their customers. Boycotting them isn't necessarily the answer. That said, these stores do need to roll with the punches and make adjustments if they want to stay in business.

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

 

And they can oppose it because of their business model but to testify in front of the state legislature and say that their customers don't want it is disingenuous and worth being knocked off my list of regular stops. I did let them know in a nice email and never heard back from them and haven't been back since.

 

As far as I can tell, most of the newer stores are in favor.

 

That annoys me for sure, but it's still the closest good store, and I wouldn't be surprised if they change their stance after the bill passes.

 

Ah, I didn't realize that's what happened. I'd say you're more justified then.

 

Ale Jail posted 45 min. ago that they got some - 1 bottle limit.

 

I'd shop there twice as much to make up for your loss, but I don't think that would cover your beer intake.

 

S Lyndale is great IMO ...price selection and staff

I ran into 4 bottles this week just going in to buy Hopslam on two different occasions. I'm bringing mine to Massachusetts this summer. We did get additional late shipments of Pentagram and Abrasive last year. Wonder if this will be a trend.
