If you put a penny in a jar every time you drank a cheap beer in your life-time, and took one out for every craft beer you drank, would you ever empty the jar? I have to say I hit the cheap stuff pretty hard in my youth. As hard as I'm trying to take those pennies out (I need them after all to pay for my habit), I think I'll need to live another twenty years to make up for my wasted youth. What about you?

Yup. Miller Lite and natty for ~7 years? That adds up

Luckily I found craft fairly early, so I don't have *that* many pennies in my jar. I have only had a few pennies put in the jar in the last year honestly.

It's been a while since I put any in there, but the occasional one still finds its way in.

Somebody owes me about 10,000 pennies.

If you've had 10,000 craft beers in your lifetime, nobody owes you anything.

My jar would never empty, I still hit the cheap stuff. But, they are all good to me.

My jar would be indebted to me some amount. I never really drank that much cheap stuff -- there would only have been like a dollar in my jar to start me off, and most of that was Yuengling, which the Pennsylvania native in me will defend much farther than the beer deserves.

I don't like algebra. It seems like there would be a lot of pennies somewhere though.

Nope. There's many times when I was in high school where I took down close to a case of Busch Light in one night. I was more of a whiskey drinker in collage, but when I did drink beer it was of the shitty AAL keg variety.

But, dammit I'm closing that gap! As futile as it may be.

I never drank much of the cheap stuff after high school. And that was 21 yrs ago. So I'm pretty sure I'm in the black for once.

I'd like to think the slate gets wiped clean once you discover good beer. No reason to feel we need to make up for past mistakes, just enjoy the great beers that are available to us now.

Nope, I never liked beer at all until I realized there was more to beer than just macro lager.

My jar would owe me a lot of money. Probably had <50 AAL's in my life.

By now, the jar is pretty well empty. May be a straggler or two stuck in the bottom, though. Drank a lot of BMC when I was young, broke, and uneducated.

I only had a couple cans of swill before I found craft beer, and I haven't looked back.
