I read a good number of posts first and grew curious, so I read the so-called article. I was more interested in the word "snob".

Where did the "hipsters like PBR" thing come from because I thought "hipsters" would be very sophisticated about beer. Im not talking about "broke college students" cuz I think even if they were broke they would still want craft beer over something like PBR.

Agreed. And all stereotypes about the sheltered, lazy, iPhone addict millennials. Boring.

Thanks to articles like that the only clickbait headlines that still get my attention have to do with Tool album release speculation and Asteroid/comet/meteor strike warnings. Everything else is poorly written by people who don’t have a clue about much with little or no research.

And for what it’s worth, did anyone really need to read an article that suggests that millennials spend money on beer?

Sadly, it must be so...I only read it because I read some posts that were ......something....Anyway I'll try to be a bit more cautious about things that seem stupid even before I read it. Maybe.

Yawn. Another article that looks down on an entire generation based on their preferences. Yeah... they're the snobs.

Pretty sure it came from Denver. PBR and hipster fixed gear neckbeard were synonymous for a while.

Why, the microbrewery-centric "Portlandia" around the turn of the century (20th > 21st) , where else?

The folks harping on millennials have become MORE annoying than the millennials themselves.

Leave the millennials alone. They don't care about much of what anyone says to begin with.

Here's an experiment: next time you try to make a statement about millennials, swap the word "millennials" out with "every person born between 1980 and 2000", and see if it still makes sense.

"Analysts polled 2,000 Americans between the ages of 21 and 70 who drink alcohol, and found that 76% of beer drinkers were willing to pay more for their preferred craft beer."

Damn those 70 year old Millennials!

I used to be able to make a LOT of 10¢ phone calls for the price of one them "craft beers", too.

Well . . . If you go by one of our local watering holes that opened an upstairs area that caters to the mills, all the best craft beers are upstairs where it is noisy and smoky. Although as a boomer, I can go upstairs, it is really meant for the mills who are mostly college students. Where the Hell do they get the money??????

Pretty much this. I certainly can and do enjoy the nicer beers of the world, I have no problem putting down some PBR or Coors Light cans on a sunny afternoon, or at the bar with some friends. Also, i'm afraid i'm 'just a bit' over the $60/month stat, and I'm ok with that.

Is 'mills' really what some people are calling millenials now? When I read this I think of a bar opening up a new floor to cater to mill workers. Thus 'it is noisy and smokey'. I would expect (based on the common stereotype) a millenial bar to be a silence pierced only by app notices and filled with e-cig vapors

What's wrong with being a snob. I find it very comforting in a smug, self satisfied way.
