I agree BobZ KBBS is the best beer I have ever had. I will also say that MD is the best non barrel aged beer I have ever had by a country mile nothing else is even close.

    Your avatar is fuzzy.
Maybe you should've tried focusing in on that awesome weed in the center a little better....

    Jk, I'm really impressed.

I say just buy the Maple Syrup from Costco... God, I love Costco.

**Note - I do not brew beer, nor do I harvest maple syrup. I do not own a brewery. Any advice in the above post should be taken as a straight plug for Costco and in no way, shape, or form be used as actual brewing advice for MD or KBBS.

I say just buy (or trade for) the bourbon barrel maple syrup from Hill Farmstead, if they ever release it again. Best maple syrup ever, IMHO.

Wake me when this thread reaches 22 pages. By then there will be 5 debates about distribution, 4 name-calling fights, 3 people calling other people negative nellies, 2 Assassin tangents, & one dumb f*ck who thinks he's still funny, for the 953rd time, & just can't resist making a Saga...joke. I hope that person is waterboarded with warm Bud Light Chelada.

I thought MD was good....but it wasn't in the top 3 Non BA stouts that I have had...part of that could have been all the hype, my expectations were way too high and your mind plays tricks on you sometimes

I want to see someone do a double blind taste test with similar beers, like KBBS, KBS, BCBS, BA dark lord, and any other top quality BA stout. I'd be very curious to see how all the heavy hitters rank when expectations are taken out of the equation.

I volunteer to be the blind judge, I've never failed the Pepsi challenge. Now we just need someone to pony up the beers.

Anyone who's had KBBS could pick it out blindfolded just by smell.
It's the only maple bomb in that group.

Curious to hear your list of top 3 Non BA stouts then, because MD is amazing. Although it all depends on what flavors tickle your palate.

Ok so I've been dying to try so many TG beers (these two especially), whats the best way for an IL city boy to do that?
I'm thinkin about taking a road trip out there in september, and it sounds like thats potentially around release time? Do they bottle these? Brewery only? What the hell else is there to do in Decorah IA? I was thinking of just heading up to the Twin Cities afterwards.

Sorry if this has been explained in 50 other threads, but any help would be appreciated!
