So has Other Half, and that's just the ipa's and stouts.

Who cares if it's gimmicky as long as it tastes good?

Bonn Place is awesome. Excellent beer, staff is friendly and the taproom is very inviting. Almost always have something on cask too. I feel like I'm stealing from them when happy hour hits and pints of Mooey are $4. Agree about their Instagram page too. I believe the owner Sam was an actor for some time.

Instagram-ability counts for something. I mean most of these places don't make THAT much beer. Get a good following of people really into it, own that niche and go for it. I mean with the nature of their...uh... Explosive potential... Distribution is out. Heck trillium had a similar issue recent with a daily serving I think a friend told me (they stated people should've refrigerated faster or whatever).
I don't think these beers really take away much from IPAs/lagers/farmhouses/stouts, because really a large portion of the people after this stuff probably wouldn't be diverting all that money into a good pilsner or core IPA from other half (hop showers, ACE, etc). Id be more worried about seltzer than this stuff affecting me in any way (that is reducing my options on the shelves). So I'll say that unlike those that did/still hate NEIPAs, I'll say I appreciate why these are enjoyable (I had something similar from Troon once), but it's just not my thing, especially since these beers are usually expensive, fragile, and require more effort than I would want to exert for the degree of enjoyment I'd get.
Now excuse me while I enjoy my lactose triple dry hopped milkshake ipa that only cost $28/4 pack.

I know it’s easy to lump them together, but I’m not quite sure it’s fair to lump Mortalis and Imprint together. Mortalis, from what little over tried, make some beers other than fruited kettle sours that are very well done (namely their stouts). I’ve had a bunch of Imprint, and other than a few straight-down-the-middle hazy IPAs (which frankly seem hard for a respectable operation to mess up too badly) I can’t say the same. They very routinely have QC issues of all kinds. And they put out some terrible stuff occasionally.

Maybe it’s simply because I’ve had less Mortalis, but that doesn’t seem to be the same for them.

I'm considering taking a half day Thursday. If I do, the decision is between:

    A. Arriving at Mortalis at 2 and sucking up a line before hitting Other Half on my way home or
    B. Chilling at OH half first and then getting to Mortalis after the line has subsided

Anyone who as been there want to chime in with opinions? Can I get to Mortalis at 2 and be near the beginning of the line? I think an hour wait to get to the front of the line would be a bummer.

B is the safer option. Can release with 3 different beers is going to be a clusterfuck

Thanks. It looks like cans have not sold out right away lately, so that’s probably safe.

What 3 beers are they releasing? They don't normally announce until the day before.

If you get there at 2 there will be a line. How long it is will depend on release, and how fast it moves depends on whether or not they have 2 registers going. Here is a map of the area: https://imgur.com/a/8VxXrfT

Generally, I have found that for days with 1 register:
If you are at point 1, it is ~10-15 mins wait
If you are at point 2, it is ~30-45 mins +
If you are at point 3, it is ~60 mins +

When there are 2 registers open the line obviously moves quicker, but you are still going to be waiting. They send people out to count, and if the line approaches the point where you risk missing due to allotments they will let you know.

Confirmed that pickup was a piece of cake today. @RexFerrin thanks for your meticulous data. I went with my plan of chilling on the Other Half lawn with a book and a couple beers while the Mortalis line died down. I got there around 4 and the place was deserted. At first I thought they'd sold out and gone home, but no: they waved me through and I got to grab a couple Hippogriff and a couple Manticore Zombie. Good stuff, and now I have a fridge full of OH and Mortalis to get me through the start of the fucked up school year.
