I'm missing my bittering hop. I have excess of Mosaic which I intend to use for aroma. It has 11.4% AA. Could I use it for bittering as well?
    Thx

Yep...Mosaic bitters just fine. Just run it through your favorite brewing calculator to figure out how much and when to add it to the boil to get your desired IBUs. I'm a big fan of single hopped Mosaic IPAs!

You could...but it would be like lighting a cigar with a "c" note.

Personally, I wouldn't and will not touch them before the 30 minute mark because a full boil will destroy everything that the hop is regarded for for taste and aromatics. There are plenty of workhorse hops that are dirt cheap that'll bitter your beer up just fine. But honestly. Why? Try getting your ibus with all later additions sometime.

if you buy 81-6 ounces at a time, there is only a difference of less than $1.00/ounce when comparing Mosaic to Chinook. 1 hope everyone can afford 1 ounce of Mosaic for bittering...

Yes, 1 oz or so of any hop for a 5 gal batch of IPA is not going to break the bank, but my backyard is full of Chinook
    cheers
