Moscatel Dark Lord

    I picked this beer to celebrate my big 4-0. While its still more than a year away, I'm curious if anyone knows how well BA Dark Lords hold up. I do enjoy "sweet" beers and I'm curious how much the cherry will fade?Or do I drink it now and find a better 4-0 beer?

    No personal experience but for sure it will hold up like a champ for that length of time, as one year (or so) is a pretty short cellaring time for such a huge beer. So I'd say you're totally safe from a deliciousness standpoint, but you're right that the cherry won't be as prominent. And being that is what makes this stuff special, I'd personally lean towards maybe opening it on the big 3-9 if that's still coming. Or Christmas day beer. We both know you'll come across more amazing beers between now and your 40th.
