Surly Syx. The flavor changed with literally every sip, as it went from slightly chilled to room temp. It's a 16% beast, and amazing.

Forgot to mention Struise Rio Reserva and Mikkeller/Cigar City Swinging Harry.

Off the top of my head I'd say North Coast's Old Stock Ale Cellar Reserve '09 and FW 15th Anniversary are the most complex I've had... The Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine I had the other day was mighty complex as well!

The most complex beer style to my palate is Belgian Strong Dark Ales (BSDA)/Quads. There are just so many different (and tasty) things going on in those beers. One of my favorites of this style is La Trappe Quad (with a few years of age on it).

    Cheers!

In terms of style I find Quads and certain Barrel Aged Strong Ales/BWs/Old Ales to be the most complex. Everyonce in a while Ill have a Barrel Aged RIS that blows me away with its complexity, but thats not as common for me. As far as specific beers, Id say its hard to top Westy 12 in terms of complexity.

Bitter Monk, Fermented three different times with different yeasts and containers, just crazy complex, especially as it warms up and of course Collage1.

hebrew jewbelation from schmalz has a nice flavor profile. enjoyed the 13 and 14, but have yet to try the 15 and 16. the number designation refers to the amount of hops, malts, abv and year. cant ask for much more in this price range of about $7 to $8 dollars a bomber. let me know if you try it and what you think. personally one of my favorite sleepers.

It tasted good, but my brother-in-law and I both thought it didn't really taste like anything specific. I like the individual beers that went into this one better separately than together.

Commons Eidolon is one of the most complex beers I've ever enjoyed.

It's a toss up between 1977 Courage Rusian Stout and 1993 Courage Rusian Stout. Harvey's Imperial Stout is the only beer to come vaguely close.

    Rochefort 10 +1 in a good way.

Abyss +1 in a bad way.

Lake Erie Monster is outrageously complex.

I agree. I wasn't blown away by it at all. I honestly thought it just tasted like wood.
