A fun article about some ludicrously expensive beers: http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/130875 Utopias and the Brewdog/Schorschbock beers have been discussed here before at some length, but does anyone know anything about the Carlsberg or Crown beers? I'm kind of curious. And the space beer sounds cool, though I'm sure it's not all that interesting to taste.
I remember reading about Brewdog's End of History beers a few years back, definitely out there. Most of these seem like more of a novelty than a potable beverage.
Zane Lamprey talked about the Carlsberg Jacobsen beer during his 3 Sheets - Denmark episode. http://drinkingmadeeasy.com/episode-guide/three-sheets/sheets-denmark/
With a site full of whale chasers, I find it interesting that only like 2 of those beers are listed and rated on BA.
The guy who works at the local bottle shop in a bar i visit claims to have one of the 12 End of Historys. Squirrel I think he said it was.
I don't get why PBR wouldn't do a special release of that outside of China, I would buy it. Imagine the look on lager drinkers seeing a PBR at 44$
And I there I thought I knew something everyone else didn't when I was drinking horrendous Tibetan red wine and snickering at the restaurant's mysterious PBR tap when I was doing immersion in Beijing...
I'm a guy that drinks $9 sixers, and once in a while I'll splurge on a $8-$10 bomber. All I can say is the $8 bombers aren't any better tasting than the $9 sixers. Oh, and the $40 I spent on two bottles of Pliny didn't exactly change my life.
