Wife supports the habit but doesn't see the check book lol. Actually bought me a fridge for my birthday recently. Shipping was the beautiful part - I just added it to my freight leaving a trade show and shipped it to my office (I'm a event manager).

My all-time high was just short of $200, lovingly spent at Court Liquors in Long Branch, N.J. a few years back. What a haul that was. :grinning:

I've actually never bought cases of either. I just grab a couple of 4 packs and drink them fresh. When you're talking sours, Lambics, and wild saison stuff can get really out of hand.

Wasnt it 3pp? If not my SO is in trouble for not getting the full allotment.
  13. jlsims04

    jlsims04 Devotee (489) Jul 14, 2013 Illinois

Yea. They had a limit on 1 4 pack for SOS pp. The Heady is long gone. Between my SO and Dad and a couple of trades all 2 cases were gone in a few weeks.

  15. AndyEdgar

Nope, bought 5 and 5. I was near the end of the original line, so it is possible they bumped the allotment by the time I got through

Maybe 200-250 bucks during a 3-4 brewery run in Maine but I can't remember exactly. I imagine I will easily top that next weekend while in VT for the brewfest :grimacing:

My most expensive haul was worth just under $600, though it was picking up allocations from The Bruery and had been accumulated over a 5 week period. My biggest single purchase was $247 and I walked away with some pretty awesome stuff.

Wow, that hurt just reading it. I don't think the 2015 BA Abraxas has been released yet, but I'll get some when it is. I can honestly say I would never pay that much for a beer. Abraxas is good but it's not that good. Consider trading, I think you could get it for about $40-60.

$550 USD plus another $150 CDN in duty. That was last November just after BCBS release. I went to NY and picked some up along with my Xmas and holiday stock. The border guard was hilarious, looked at us and said "Who spends $550 on it magic beer?" and my wife just said "This fool".

I think my total cost for my Hill Farmstead + Heady + Nightshift and Jack's Abbey haul was a little over $500. The part that killed me was the $350 in shipping costs. May do it again next year.

$80 and $100 are my two largest purchases by a large margin. One of them was at a bottle shop not long after my wife gave birth to our son, it was going to be the first time she could really drink since we found out she was pregnant so we both went a bit crazy. Happened across a 2008 BCBS on the shelf that the store put out as an easter egg (which was only $7, that wasn't the going crazy part).

The other time was when the wife was visiting a friend in Wisconsin, stopped at Casanova and with me on the phone with her, started loading up on bombers. The money went quick.

Otherwise, I feel really uncomfortable when i get near $30 at a time. Usually if I go above that, it's because we're buying extra to share with friends coming over - but even then,$30 or less is usual.

A friend of mine's parents went to Rare Barrel and bought the max allotment for everything they had. Came out to $1200. There were about 10 or so of us who all went in on it though. Would've been more but they ran out of Forces Unseen.

I bought a case of 12 of Feral One at Barrelworks in Buellton in 2014. I think that plus a T-shirt and a glass or two ran me nearly $300.00.

At a non-brewery, I think the most I've spent has been around $100.00.
