This one has eluded my tick so far. That guy speared a white whale.

I do. I still have the other one you sent me. I think it's more drinkable and over all better than the KBS i had last year.

I would have to recommend Hoppin Frog Boris, as well Peche Mortel.

Glad to hear that. I have a 2005 WWS just waiting to be opened.

Yet another vote for Parabola, BCBS, and WWS.

    My top three:

    1. Double Black (Struise Brouwers)
    2. Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th (Dark Horse)
    3. Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (Mikkeller)

Mind you I still have to try some of the biggest name stouts, such as FBS, CBS, KBS, the Bourbon County series, etc. so this probably isn't the greatest list to go by. I had Black Tuesday, Chocolate Rain, Serpent Stout and Dark Lord, but they didn't come anywhere near these three for me.

For more easily available ones (at least in the US) Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout gets a BIG tick from me. They're very hard to find in Europe (non-UK), but I always try to keep 1 or 2 bottles of it handy when I'm in a generic impy stout mood.

Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura. That's a stout with some flavor.

Let's just list some super hard to get beers so the OP can continue to be disappointed when he can't find/trade for any of them (ie Huna, BCBS, DL, etc).

Depending on where you live some readily available stouts that are great IMHO include:
    Ten Fidy
Stone IRS (yearly release in the late winter/early spring)
    Bells Expedition
    Founders Breakfast (winter release)
    Great Divide Yeti
The Abyss is one of the best I've had...comes out in December and can be hard to find but I'm usually able to get 1-2 bottles off the shelf in Texas with a little work.

I mentioned it in the LNBA thread, but last night I cracked a bomber of the 2012 Stone IRS and drank it by myself over the course of about an hour and a half. It was like drinking 3 different beers at roughly half-hour intervals; the flavor changed considerably as it warmed up and the complexities of the beer were impressive.

The above is a good selection. But I never thought Ten Fiddy lived up to the hype. I get too much of that "metallic" taste. I've got two cans left from 2011, and I'll let them sit for about 15 minutes after I take them out of the fridge and give this stout another go. Maybe the warmer temp will bring out the complexities.
