See the topic name. As for Washington, I might not be the best person to comment on the matter, as I don't live in Seattle, and beer from outside of it stays pretty unknown. I do know that Holy Mountain has multiple contenders though, like Midnight Still.

South Dakota - we have a couple dozen breweries and some good beers, but none I would consider hyped.

Maryland - 1st beer that comes to my mind as overhyped is Union Double Duckpin.
2nd - RAR IPAs (various). I expect a lot more out of these based on the hype train on the boards here.

All of the Ohio-based hyped beers I've had have delivered. White Rajah, Head Hunter, Bodhi, to name a few. Jackie O's cranks out deliciousness constantly. Oro Negro, BA Oil of Aphrodite. The heart of the US has some big hitters, too!

Here in PA, Tired Hands wins hands down followed by the sours from Pizza Boy / Als of Hamden. There's other good beers coming out of here as well but those are the first two that come immediately to mind.

Carton but to be honest, there are definitely worth drinking if youre into craft. Its warranted. If carton was as available as say Yuengling, or River Horse id consistently buy them every time i get beer. Sadly with distro its rare i see them in my area and it goes within several days and i simply cant go to the brewery for the time being.

Minnesota- has to be Darkness. And the praise is well deserved.

I respectfully disagree. Kane's Barrel Aged beers have the most hype in the garden state and it is well deserved.

Casey certainly has the most hyped beers in CO.

VA - one of the limited release barrel aged stouts from Hardywood or Aslin IPAs (partly due to such small batches)

To clarify, are you asking for rightfully hyped by quality and demand, or artificially hyped by marketing - possibly unworthy of the hype?

VT: something from HF like Ann, BA Damon, or Flora Plum
MA: Treehouse Good Morning or King Julius
    ME: Dinner
PA: Tired Hands as a brewery, but it might be ManBearPig as an individual beer
NY: tough one. Probably Grimm, if they can be considered a NY brewery. Lambo Door, Tesseract, Lumen, or Afterimage

For Ohio, the most hyped brewery right now has to be Hoof Hearted, with Jackie O's always pretty hyped as well.

For an individual beer, probably one of the following: Jackie O's BB Black Maple, Fat Head's Hop Juju, CBC Bodhi, or Hoof Hearted Konkey Dong. Though, I am very curious to hear how those outside of the state would answer this question.

New Hampshire... um, we have some OK beers but nothing that anyone would take the trouble to hype so, canny Yankees that we are, we hype our neighbors' beer.

Vermont: any Hill Farmstead 500ml limited release over $30.
    Maine: Dinner.
Massachusetts: Tree House, probably, and not because the beer isn't awesome but just because I hate standing in line for an hour just to get 12 cans.

Kate the Great if retired beers are allowed. Otherwise, maybe Royal Impy? Granted the hype doesn't match the surrounding states, but for that particular state, it might qualify.
