So the Wine Enthusiast article about top beers of 2013 got me to thinking, what were the most hyped beers of 2013? You know, the beers that became insta-whales, that people were ****** others for in the trade forum, and that were probably delicious/well worth the hype (or maybe not?) Few off the top of my head: BA Abraxas KBBS Assassin Mornin Delight BCBS Proprietors (we'll see how this trades in the long run) Anything Hill Farmstead
In MD (specifically Baltimore) we have these delicious little treats called "Berger cookies" or as I like to call them, "cavity finders". They're basically a sugar cookie topped with an inch of fudge. They're kind of a Baltimore icon. A local brewery made a Berger cookie stout, that everyone went apeshit over before it even released. It turned out to be a huuuuuuge letdown.
black tuesday was raging out here in california because of the whole shipping in CA thing they did. it was hell for me to make my order because the website was so slow i have a feeling eclipse will make a nice comeback soon here. isnt pappy van winkle supposed to be one of the releases this year?
KBBS/Mornin Delight BA Mexican Cakes Damnon/Double Barrel Damon Proprietors BCBS CW 15- seems like forever since it was the new insta-whale, but it was 2013 BA Abraxas PvW Black Magick DDG
ab mexican cake and ab grande negro were pretty hard for me to land (especially my second and third bottles). first instawhale of 2014 - double barrel hunahpu
I'd say that White Chocolate Moo-Hoo and Cinnamon Roll'd WnB from Terrapin are riding the Hype Train pretty hard... wasn't able to snag the White Chocolate and probably won't be able to get the Cinnamon Roll'd either, so can't say if they're deserving or not.
Amen.. interesting to hear that Dirt Wolf was super hyped down in your area. Wasn't a huge release up here in MA.
Drink a regular Moo Hoo. It is better than than the White and takes no effort to get. Incredibly hyped for no good reason.
In this scene, Toppling Goliath. Good God, I cannot believe what people want for those beers in trades.
