I grew up in Central Illinois. The great cheap beer, available in 12 oz returnable bottle cases, at a stupidly small price was Rheinlander. It was smooth and delicious, still is I hear.

    I have two:
    1. Coors Banquet because it was the first 6 pack I purchased legally when I turned 18 (back when the drinking age was what it SHOULD BE!)
    2. Schaefer (& Schaefer Light) because I only drank them at a specific point in my life (ages 18-20) and 90% of them I drank at my favorite night club as they sold cans of it for $0.50 and I was a nearly broke college student.

Back when I was 15, my dad kept a case of schlitz in the fridge. A friend and I drank 1/2 of each bottle then refilled it with water and put the caps back on. My dad, not really being a drinker, never noticed. Ah, youth!

I have 2 words for you...........OLD STYLE!!!! My dad drank it by the case and of course it was inevitable that I would try it when I was young. Then in college I would get a 30 pack regularly during the Cubs season with my friend Brendan. Memories.......

My first thought is Old Peculier, which was really the first beer that opened my eyes to the possibility of beer with actual flavor. I think I first tried it in about 1995. ... And now I wish I had a six of it right now.

My most nostalgic beer is Alpha Kong by FFF. That was my gateway beer back in about 2005.

Spotted Cow. I went to college in Wisconsin and drank the crap out of it whenever I went out - sneaked in - to bars with friends.

Another vote for Lowenbrau. Spent a large part of my childhood in Berlin, Germany (my father worked for the State Department). Would grab a sip when I knew I wouldn't be caught. So I guess most of us remember our first time fondly. My avatar also refers to Berlin.

Bud Light, because it was plentiful in thousands of youthful escapades; Pete's because it introduced me to the notion of buying a sixer of "something different"; Falstaff because it was the first beer I can recall my father drinking and finally, St. Pauli girl, which we'd drink after softball when we wanted to look all fancy and such.

Miller High Life in the stubby little pony bottles. Seemed to be the beer of choice for family holiday meals back in the day.

My Dad and my Uncle would let my cousins and I each have one, 'Alright. One. As long as your Mothers don't see you', when we were not yet of legal drinking age (18 at the time). We were on top of the world.

My Mom recently found out about it, 40+ years later, and was probably just as upset as she would have been then.

Mine was not really a beer but a shitty Mikes Hard type of beverage by the name of "Sublime".
When I was 17-18 (32 now), I would have my older brother buy me six pack after six pack.

One time i saved up 6 bottles of this strawberry lemonade drink called Fruit Works they sold at my school, but filled them with Sublime instead (looked exactly the same) so I could drink while on various school trips.

    I was such a bastard.

I feel nostalgic for beers I used to drink a lot in the past but can't get where I live anymore. I grew up drinking Amstel and Mythos (my dad would also drink Henninger and Lowenbrau) and ocassionaly Zagorka and Kamenitza. In college I would drink only Cobra, Brahma, San Miguel and Tiger. Not great beers but still.

My first nostalgic beer would have to be Sam Adams Boston Lager. It was the first beer I had ever had in my entire life and set me on the road to Craft Beerdom. The second one would have to be De Dolle Oerbier. I first had it at The Publick House and shocked at how good it was. It was so good that I can't help but think of my time in Boston every time I have one.
