Comparing a Sour Pale Oud Bruin with a Sour Stout? I understand what you are trying to get at but that is an awful comparison. This is not a 1:1 comparison here, Petrus is not a substitution for Tart of Darkness.

Maine Beer Company, feel free to start packaging your bomber priced pints in 4 packs any day now... still waiting.

Actually i've made that same comparison on many bombers before. For some reason Bombers are priced at a premium for the same beer you can get in a 12oz. The best part is alot of places will sell you singles from the 6 packs these days and you can get 2 12oz bottles for say $4 each. (as they do markup singles) and it's still cheaper and more quantity for less money (plus you can open up one and enjoy today and open up the other and enjoy next week (open the bomber and enjoy ASAP)

Echoing the Mikkeller (and Evil Twin) sentiment. Some of the beers I have no problem dropping the money on. Some of the beers are outrageously expensive for reasons I can't imagine except that he is a gypsy.

I don't think The Bruery is very overpriced. BA/Sour should drive costs way up. I mean besides the extra equipment, think about how long it takes to age some of these things.

It's not a great deal in MA and not just because of the distance. I don't think $7-8 bombers are a great deal either, but it's better than the same bombers at $9-11

The Bruery clutters shelves around here. Nobody is buying Sour In The Rye ($24), Bois ($35), White Oak ($16) or any of their other basic stuff. Can't blame them. I imagine their classy labels spark curiosity from potential buyers but those price tags make you think twice. Who's willing to take a shot in the dark on a barrel aged old ale for $35? That brewery can fuck themselves

Mikkeller without a doubt. When I saw I had to pay 5.99 a bottle for their Single-Hop series I about shit my pants. And much like the majority of their beers, they were all mediocre. The only beer from them I really enjoyed was Beer Geek Breakfast (which was 10 bucks for a 500 ml bottle). Every other bomber or 750ml was never below 15 bucks in my area.

Evil Twin's up there too. A 4-pack of Hipster Ale was around 13-14 bucks if I remember correctly. I've seen 12 ounce bottles from them that ran 10 bucks a pop as well.

Around where I live Rogue is always around $12-13 for a six pack. Sixpoint is usually $10 for a 4 pack, and Oskar Blues is actually reasonable around $9 for a six pack. Maine Beer Co. is usually has for $7 a bomber which I think isn't bad and usually is fresh near me. Stone is usually $10+ for a six of anything theirs unless it's Ruination, Oaked Arrogant Bastard, etc.

I'm also going to have to go with DC Brau. $12 for a six of Corruption, and I'm just outside the District? Please.

Sam Adams. I enjoy their product tremendously, but often find myself passing them over because for the same price there are so many other offerings. With their higher volume and distribution, I find them a little pricey.

Gotta be Mikkeller and Evil Twin. Especially for how mediocre 75% or their beers are. Had the Beer Geek Breakfast Stout and I got it for $6.99. Guy said it used to be like $9 for the 12oz. I would never even pay $6.99 again as it was a good beer but nothing outrageous.

Evil Twin is ridiculous too. Although Imperial Biscotti Break is really one of my favorite beers so I will occasionally drop the $13 for the bomber if it is around.

I would say ballast point, but I think Sculpin is fantastic (when fresh) and nice that I can get 12oz'rs for $2.49, so it seems worth it.

I would also say that any bomber of IPA or DIPA that is over $8 is overpriced. Im sorry, but all of the top quality IPAs taste so similar that overpaying is unnecessary. Get a fresh Green Flash and call it a day. And off topic, can Stone stop making new IPAs already?? I swear that my local shop has like 5 stone IPAs and they all taste the same. Give it a rest

You can get 30 cans of Bud here for about $17 on sale. That's pretty damn cheap.

    Anyway most overpriced IMO are-
Evil Twin (although some have gone down to reality lately)
    Knee Deep
    Beachwood
