Wow in the Chicagoland area the normal Maine brews are $5.99. I'm referring to MO, Pepper, etc.

I still don't see how a beer that is $11 a six pack is now over $20 a bomber just because of barrel aging. Almost everything else great divide makes is a good value.

I think the regular rotation of beers are priced right here in Chicago. They range from $9.99 - $13.99/4 pack for Overrated, Bender, Coffee Bender and Furious. Abrasive is a bit more at about $18 - $20/4 pack.

That's cheaper than we see it for but do you feel paying $6 for what amounts to a pint of a 5.5% - 6% Pale Ale is a good price at a bottle shop? To me that's still way "overpriced".

Bombers which cost more than $7, which is north of $3.50 per 12 oz. bottle, are overpriced unless it is something ypu can't live without.

That's definitely a bummer. Abrasive is very damn good, but $20/4 pack is brutal.

I would go so far as to say anything over $.50 per ounce. $10 is my limit for 22oz and $12 is my limit for six packs. Even at $.50 per ounce a six pack would be $36!

I've eaten at spinnerstown a few times. I give them a pass on their RR prices since they are a restaurant. Overpriced for sure, but a pass since I am eating in. Usually spend way too much when I go...

I actually purchased the Russian River beers for those prices because I don't know when I would ever drink them or visit RR brewery. That was my first and last time to purchase until I can manage to go to Santa Rosa, CA

No it's still overpriced. And I don't buy very many Maine beers anymore.

I really enjoy Sculpin as well, but refuse to pay those prices for a 6 pack. I'll enjoy it on tap every once in a while.

For sure. Abrasive is one of my favorite DIPA's, but I limit myself to one or two four packs when it's available. We also have some shops that sell it $5/can which is pretty crappy.

Rare Barrel was the first one that came to my mind. Good...but $25-30 a bomber good? No way

Ballast Point. Really don't understand the hype. Haven't had a single beer by them I'd buy.

    BA Narwhal. 20$? Why?

Surprised people are calling out Maine. All their bottles are 6$ in my area...

Any bomber from Three Floyds. $15 for 22oz of beer brewed in Munster, IN? I like their beer, but I refuse to buy their bombers on principle. Price gouging, pure and simple. The funny thing is, I see TONS more FFF bombers sitting on the shelves around Chicago over the past few years. I think people are catching on.

I have to say one of my fav brewery, Maine Beer Co. has rightfully caught the flack for being overpriced. I feel a few of their stuff is worth it, like Lunch, MO. Some of it, like: Tiny Beautiful Something, etc are definitely not deserving that price point.
Having said that, I am always happy to give my dollar to them for the overall great ethics they have!

sounds like typical bottle shop markups. I heard recently someone say they saw 6pks of zombie dust for $22 in/around Chicago. That ain't 3 Floyds price gouging, it's the store. If you see blatant price gouging, I recommend you contact the brewery directly with the name of the place and the pricing.

I was just about to post a similar sentiment.

I don't like having to pay $18-$20/4-pack of Abrasive, but having said that I still buy it basically every time I see it because it's a great beer.
