Nothing immediately comes to mind for me that I could easily defend but what do people think is the most overrated brewery stateside and why

tbh I was kinda underwhelmed with SARA.

I tried the offerings at Shelton Brothers and quite honestly I was not blown away at all. They are great trade bait though.

Haven't had enough of their beers to agree or disagree with you though I do like sculpin, but why do you say that?

Alpine. Been saying it for years and my opinion still hasn't been swayed.

To me it is stone. I like their stuff but have never been truly wowed by anything. Of course a lot of this may be due to being on the wrong coast.

New Glarus, hard to find outside of Wisconsin makes it exclusive but doesn't live up to the hype. Good but not great.

I will agree with that to a point, I think the thing to note here is that in this case it's not really stone's fault as much as it is that people are really defensive about their beer, I mean it's really good, but is it transcendent, no not really

Honestly? Founders. I have not enjoyed anything I've had from them.

I like Stone beers, I think they get a bad rap because some people don't like their attitude. The beer's good to me, though.

I had the breakfast stout once, I suppose the fact that I don't remember much about it suggests that there may not have been much to remember.

I stopped rating stuff on here with a few random (mostly CO) exceptions. At nearly every tasting I've been to someone shows up with several and they never cease to disappoint.

some might say that they are "arrogant bastards" haha but too I think that attitude, for lack of a better description is a product of another time, in the booming craft market of today, it doesnt make as much sense but when they started and craft brewers were few and far between, the attitude was much easier to back and defend i would think

I never see stone real fresh. Never past date, but not real fresh either. For that I give them a bit of a pass. However if you are going to distribute here it is their fault if everything is old. Either they cann't deliver or they chose terrible distributors. The problem can be anywhere down the chain, but ultimately it is stones's product. I have never had anything bad from them. I can however always find something better cheaper.

DFH - really don't like any of their beers, somewhat quirky lineup of beers that you either like or you don't.
