I think you mean their marketing. Their attitude is that of the most inclusive beer evangelists you will ever encounter. From their homebrew / small brewery collaborations, to the groundbreaking distribution company they established to deliver beer to other markets for other small breweries, to their world class beer restaurant tap lists of beer from other breweries, you will not find another brewery that does more for other breweries than Stone. If people can't see past a cartoon gargoyle, that's their loss.

Wow I think Founders would have to be one of the best out there! But hey everyone is entitled to their opinion.

DFH! Now one that does have some good beer but I think gets to much love is FFF. Zombie is good but overrated. Permanent funeral is awesome but that is the only world class beer imo they have. They are good, but overrated.

Actually, I am a sucker for Gargoyles :grinning:

I always got the impression that people didn't like Greg Koch, or at least it seems that he has a polarizing personality (just from reading stuff around here). He doesn't bother me at all, but.......

I'm tired of reading Hill Farmstead is the best brewery in the world. They sure do make some great beers, but the continuous hype machine perpetuated by practically every beer journalist/blogger/Facebooker across the country has made it an overcrowded tourist trap with long lines, and skimpy growler fill limits after you drive forever to get there.

You mean Greg Koch? He's a bit of a cornball, but I believe he is very good for beer.

When it comes to breweries like Stone I think they've transitioned to a state where their audience is more mainstream and they've already taken a big hit to their street cred with the craft crowd. Most of the talk about Stone I hear (in SoCal anyway) is negative, in fact occasionally too much so, as I think Stone still puts out some pretty decent beer along with a lot of boring stuff.

Dinner is the real deal, love Lunch as well. When I was up,in ny they had 3 month old MBC stuff, what a waste of great beer. Fresh counts greatly here.

I would have to agree with DFH too but at the same time, they deserve a lot of credit for kind of kicking the door down for newcomers, like a gateway beer; 120m was a stupid craze for a minute. DFH has been more of a Pioneer or Ambassador to craft than anything else. One of the first to sellout, you could say.

I love New Glarus. Their slogan is "Only in Wisconsin" so that could be a reason you're not finding it outside of Wisconsin...

It's refreshing being able to get a bomber of something tasty for $9.99 when here in MN we pay $20+ for bombers of everything Surly makes. Heck, even Lift Bridge and Fulton price their bombers over $10 and you've probably never heard of them.

You didn't buy an IPA because it was almost 30 days old, sorry but thats the definition of a freshness snob in my book. I'm also rather curious how it would take you weeks to drink a bomber...

EDIT: My votes: DFH, Almanac, Prarie

I will say, in my vicinity, Port City Brewing Company. They put out some mediocre shelf beers, rarely dabble in the limited releases and could do so much more with their production space but everyone in the DMV seems to have high praise for them.
