    I assumed they gave more than 30 days. Also I assume they know what they are talking about with the enjoy by. Hardly a snob not drinking an IPA after the enjoy by date set by the brewer.

    Picking up the bottle and reading it would have told you different, as would the magical box your using to communicate with me. You also said you saw it before the date, so therefore had the opportunity to drink it within the 30 days.

    New Belgium, Stone, Abita (not that they have a very good reputation), some of the local breweries

    I don't think DFH is overrated. Every beer geek knows their style and what they do and I don't think a lot of people expect amazing mind-blowing stuff out of them. Guys like Founders and Russian River make great beers, but most of the time just not worth the hype they frequently receive (IMO of course).

    It takes you two weeks to drink 22 oz?

    You messed up not purchasing it when you saw it... even if it were a few days after the Enjoy By date. Great beer!

    You carry a laptop with you in the liquor store. I bet people have one hell of a time getting by you. Do you sit in the aisle? And your liquor store has wifi. I have a lot of choices. When I see a beer and the freshness date is clearly displayed I usually don't spend my time doing research. I pass it by. There are too many choices to spend time researching every one. I found a fresh IPA using my very little information and went home.

    Agreed - three floyds makes some really good beers, but in terms of being over-rated, I think dark lord and zombie create a halo that doesn't pull through in many of their other beers.

    Don't get me wrong, I have really enjoyed a few of their beers (I have a 6er of Zombie in the fridge right now) but the hype over any offering they release is not based on the beer people are snapping off the shelves - it is hype because of a couple of particularly good beers they make.

    Put it this way, Gumballhead is a nice beer - but does it really justify a $14 6 pack price that sells out within an hour every time it gets to the store?

    Atwater Block just consistently disappoints. I keep giving them a try since they are in my home state but nothing has ever been great from them.

    Also DFH is over-hyped. I love what they did for craft & I still try things (as I sit here drinking Bitches Brew) but I'm consistently let down

    Lunch was one that I had. It was less than three weeks old and was just very bland to me. Then again, this was a while back, so I should give it another look.

    Founder's to me is overrated. Other than their Imperial Stout, I haven't been overly impressed by their beers.

    Maybe you've had too much of a good thing?? Being a beotch to get has nothing to do w/being overrated. I've got 4 dudes getting a beer flophouse in the Greensboro area if you are interested .....get there early to beat the hipsters (and folks from PA and NYC and NJ and MA....like me). (-;

    They were in cases, with only a case price on it. I assumed it was a case and I could probably buy a sixer. As I stated it was near the date....like tomorrow. I did not do any more research other than pass on it. There are hundreds of choices in this store. Now would anybody buy beer a few days from a freshness date from a brewer that you think you have had pretty old beer from? Also 2 week old dirt wolf is sitting there.

    I never got the feeling Rogue was overrated. Seems like most people are in agreement that it's pretty lame save for a few beers.

    I mean, they do seem kinda cocky sometimes. That whole thing where they destroyed a crate of macro was a bit unnecessary. You could argue that's just part of their marketing though, and with a beer called Arrogant Bastard it's kinda expected.

    Mixed feelings on MBCO. They brew a couple of very sought after beers and limit volume/dist. They brew 5-6 other beers that are ok to good --but collecting dust on shelves by the thousands across New England. Brew more of what people like -- reduce the # of dust collectors.
