Most Overrated Brewery...

Tree House. Their beers are good but their western MA homer-ism of a "do no wrong" brewery is insufferable to say the least.

 

So you don't like Stone or Great Lakes at all..yet only had one beer from Stone, then criticize Great Lakes mostly for their IPAs being overhopped...

So a simpler question..what beers do you actually like? Pretty sure between those two breweries there are plenty of beers to make 99% of the people here happy.

 

The whole thread is full of people listing their least favorite breweries as overrated. I just piled on I guess.

 

Sorry about that! Nevertheless, "overrated" implies that my taste is "right" while others are wrong. "I don't like it" is simply a statement of fact of one's subjective experience.

 

Have you had their Citra Session. Drinking it now and loving it!!!!

 

Fresh and aged BOIS are freaking awesome! So glad you tossed that comment in for good measure. Agreed 100% with everything here. Well said.

have never seen it fresh . definitely want to try it though, can't imagine it not being great.

if you like really citra-forward beers and ever see barrier on tap, keep a look out for barrier money IPA. pretty sure it's single hopped with a ton of citra. i could drink it all day.

This must have really bothered you to the point of looking up my beer history lol....

I'm not saying that they are a horrible brewery... I have enjoyed a few of their beers. When I said over rated I was speaking in terms of TG stouts. A lot of people have traded ungodly amounts of beer for bottles like Sr71, Assassin, and KBBS. IMO it's not worth it. I have had stouts that I have bought off the shelf like Founders KBS that were just as good if not better! Either way, to each his own! Cheers!

 

Please expand your argument, need more info on the horrible owner point...and the below average beer point.
