It's all about the saison. Double citra/galaxy and Everett are great beers though. I also really like Enlightenment.

I kind-of dig the reserved taste in his ipa's tbh. :sunglasses:

Live in Texas, can confirm. If you go there, its great, but everything in the store is pricey garbage

True, but rewarding a brewery because their beers are extremely difficult to get is even more ridiculous in my mind.

NG fruited beers. I love their sour stuff, but the other stuff is way too sweet

Prairie is a lot of hype for nothing of greatness. Very good, but overhyped and massively overpriced.

New Belgium (aside from a good number of their Lips of Faith)

Lagunitas. Solid beers at an attractive price...not worthy of the worship they get.

Your local brewery. Yes, your's. It's fine, I'm sure they make some nice beers, bit they're way overhyped.

Bell's is not overrated. Two Hearted has won IPA awards on a global scale. HopSlam is a great
DIPA. Expedition stout is highly regarded. Even the Summer ale Oberon is a great Summer ale. This
is a case of the strong beers being so strong that it doesn't matter what else they make.

    +1 on Rogue and Sixpoint.

I enjoy Dead Guy Ale and when I want a solid maibock I will pick up a bomber. But beyond Dead Guy I have unfortunately always been disappointed.

Sixpoint ... never found one I liked. But still looking for Jammer!

Since "ratings" are subjective...the idea that one brewery is "over-rated" seems a little moronic to me. Over-rated on BA? RateBeer? In the press? Blogs? Sure, you get a general idea of a brewery from ratings...but over-rated? Maybe some people just come on BA and purposely rate things high so their brewery "looks better"? That would be "over-rating" IMO.

I agree. Alpha King, Gumballhead, Zombie Dust, Dreadnaught and Permanent Funeral are all great. Jinx Proof and Yum Yum are also "good." Their other offerings, however, are pretty mediocre (especially the very malt-forward brews; when it comes to hoppy beers, though, they're superb).

I don't think GF can be overrated at this point. Like Rogue, most BA users no longer approve of their offerings.

I'd say that Ballast Point is overrated. I love Sculpin. It's one of my favorite WC IPA's. But that's literally the only superb beer that they make. Their other offerings are pretty mediocre, IMO.

Agreed. Alpha King is the only one I've had that you listed, but that along with Gumballhead is enough to make them winners in my book.

Sorry, dont know why so many on BA are drinking the haterade on GF brewery, they are one of my favorite breweries, i like everything they offer. My only complaint is a little high priced. My most overated brewery would be ballast point, enjoy their beers but certainly dont give them the high ratings as everybody else and definitely not worth 13.99 a 6pk. Also one local to me, but well known is Westbrook in Charleston, SC, yet ti have anything from them that has blown me away like the ratings say
