I could probably say that one of any/many crappy cans of Bud Light or Coors Light or even Hamm's that I've had countless times over the years after mowing the lawn on a hell-qualifying-hot day. But I think anyone can say that. I have one from recent memory that is more suitable. I was on summer vacation, with the family at the San Diego Zoo. I love zoos, it was my first time to that zoo, and I thought it was excellent, and the weather was simply great. Having a good time with the fam, and I stopped for a draft beer. I had a Green Flash Hop Head Red, and I remember saying to myself how incredibly good that beer tasted just then, on such a great, memorable day.

If I am doing any kind of work, I usually have a Leine Sunset Wheat waiting for me. This was my first beer, my first different beer, and first thing I want to go to to shake off the labor I just put on.

    Back story:

I never liked beer until tasting something that could take me to a place a thought all beer was (Natty, PBr). This was my stepping stone into what beer really is. Not a spectacular brew, but it gave me the road to travel on. Yes, short back story.

After spending 13 weeks at Parris Island they turned us loose, now SC is like really hot in the summer. Waiting for my flight home right to the bar, and an ice cold Budweiser foam just rolling over the rim of the glass. Best beer in my life, the 1st cold drink I had in 3 months, I didn't miss my GF, didn't miss the *****, it was stinking hot 24/7 and I used to dream about beer in frosted mugs. Damn that beer was good, had 2 and I was super buzzed to hell.

Probably the first Kate the Great of the day on the last KtG Day at the Portsmouth Brewery in 2012. Took the day off, got up at 5AM and waited outside for hours in the freezing cold. Nearly had frost bite on my toes (no joke), but got an awesome table upstairs overlooking the restaurant and brewroom with a good buddy of mine, that was actually my former intern who I introduced to KtG and craft beer in general two years prior. Great day, great beer, great company.

Anything after something I've worked a long time for. Recently I took a 6 hour board exam in Philly, and picked up a case of FBS the morning before it started at 2:00 pm. By 9:30 pm after an hour or so of orientation and the 6 hour exam I got back to my hotel and downed almost 8 of them myself (the last one I fell asleep about half way through). The hangover wasn't too bad and I mailed the rest back to myself here in Arizona. Still working on the case, the beer I have to work for is always the best.

'Had the opportunity to visit Muhlfelder Brauhaus while on a business trip in Herrsching, Germany several years ago...that "one" really hit the spot. (Well maybe that two...or...) And right next to the ammersee...it was an awesome location to enjoy a fine, locally handcrafted German Wheat beer in Bavaria.

Mine might be the first time I pop a Breakfast Stout or Pumking on a slightly chilly night when Fall is blanketing the area. It's become a tradition.

A Bourbon County Brand Stout while standing around a fire on a cold Thanksgiving night in Minnesota. It's a tradition at my brother's house that you have pre-meal and post-meal beers around his outdoor fire pit on Thanksgiving evening. Our friend from Chicago brought a few bottles of BCBS with him and shared with us hardy souls who braved the cold. Standing there with my wife, sons, nieces, nephews and family sipping that beer was something special.

Drinking Bell's Wedding Ale at my wedding reception a couple weeks ago.

I will always remember the Dechutes Black Butte XXV the night before when I was trying to calm my nerves though.

Kern River 5th Anniversary just because it was a damn good beer, and I didn't have to wait in line or anything.

Arrogant Bastard, which I had for the first time after finishing the bar exam. I bought the bomber when I started studying and it sat longingly in my fridge for six weeks. That was a satisfying one to finally crack open and it lived up to its name.
