I was wondering what people think is the most varied brewery with the highest amount of quality beers. I can't admit I've tried beers from all the top breweries in the world but from what I've tried it's probably Bells. While I would take Founders or Three Floyd's beers over most Bells beers. Bells just has a more variety factor to their beers.

If you look at their beer availability calendar the list is pretty impressive. They have 23 beers in their standard lineup with 8 year round beers. And that list doesn't include their limited beers like Black Note. Just looking at their standard 23 beers released a year that list includes IPAs, Pale Ales, Stouts, Imperial Stouts, Wheat Beer, Lager, Barleywine, Brown Ale, Amber Ale, Witbier, Belgian Strong Dark Ale, Scottish Ale, Porter, Weissbier, Doppelbock, Marzen. While not every beer Bell's makes is a homerun, their lowest rated beer that's fairly widely available is at 77 on here (Midwestern Pale Ale)

I'll go with Victory for obvious reasons.

I'll also go with Victory, but if I'm allowed to name another, I would add DFH. Man, they brew everything!

Sierra Nevada is the no brainer. New Glarus does a ton of styles too.

How could Bell's not be in the conversation with the two perimeters I mentioned? The most varied and highest quality of beer. This years top breweries list for ratebeer has Bells at 5. None of the breweries you mentioned are in the top 20 on that list. Obviously RateBeer's list isn't a live by and die list but it's more of a popular opinion on the matter

    Obligatory Sam Adam's nomination.

And though I love them, someone is inevitably question my claim that they brew "quality" beers.

    Urgh.

Let's agree to disagree, you did say most varied, not rated the best. ^^

I'll go with Founders here. They make some of the best available stouts, their IPAs are great, and their porter is top 5 in it's style.

Honorable mentions to Sierra Nevada and Jack's Abby, even though they only brew lagers, the different styles of lagers that they brew make them stand out.

Oh, and if Hill Farmstead was available in more locations than just the brewery they would easily top this list and there probably wouldn't be much need for this thread.

For me it has to be Short's they release at least on seasonal every month, most months they release two seasonals for distribution. They have a huge variety. If you visit the tap room they always have over 20 different beers on tap. I have gone there on consecutive back to back days and was surprised that they had at least three or four beers on tap that were not on the tap list the day previously.

For me Founders does not match up to most of the previous breweries stated as far as line up goes. I've visited the brewery and they had maybe 5 or six beers that were not part of their year round line up. Although the quality of their beers is awesome they lack variety.

Other breweries that I have visited that have great variety are Dark Horse, Cigar City, and Oddside ales.

Victory has to be up there for sure. Bells is definitely one. While they aren't really known outside of CO, Dry Dock has made an absolutely insane number of great beers in almost every style you can imagine.

Sam Adams has brewed a beer in essentially every style imaginable. Some have been awesome, some good, some pretty weak. But they are the most varied in my mind. I'll echo Dogfish Head for brewing beers that nobody would ever think of brewing, and Victory as well.

I love Founders, their probably my favorite brewery. But for anyone mentioning most varied with them is kidding themselves. They make IPAs, Imperial IPAs, Stouts, Old Ales, Rye Beers and Fruit Beers, Scotch Ales and a Porter. That's not extremely varied and most of the styles are fairly common except Fruit and Scotch Ales. They do everything they make extremely well though

All of these breweries do pretty good to outstanding job with most styles. I haven't cared for Bell's Belgian style attempts, but the rest of their stuff is at least solid. I've never had a bad beer from Surly, SN, or Great Lakes, and they all make some of my absolute favorites. If I was relegated to drinking beer from just one of these four breweries forever I wouldn't be upset.

All good to great to amazing beers too imho. They are changing things up as they go too such as retiring monster and bringing back their weizen. Theirs breakwater reserve series also changes things up and makes for some unique brews. And at the brewery they have a gap where they let one of the brewers make what they want and put it out. When I was there last there was something by the name of yoshi. It was a very light session beer, barely touched 3% abv and had all the flavored of a good American pale ale with some extra hop flavor.

A lot of brewers make beers with the intend of them being consumed like that, look at Black Tuesday. A 20 % ABV RIS in a 75 cl. bottle, no way is that meant to drink a bottle of.

Of all the brewers mentioned above (and that I've had beers from), Great Lakes impresses me the most with their variety. Their ales and lagers are equally impressive.

Bell's gets the nod for me if lagers don't count (for me, though, they count in a big way!).
