I’m not a big Kölsch fan, but this local brew by Alibi is hitting the spot.

Thanks for creating this thread @LeinenkugelDrinker - Love the opportunity to have a bit more camaraderie with my fellow BAs in the mountain region!

Currently working on a bottle of 2021 Barrel-Aged Stout from Mountains Walking..

Great stuff- chocked full of rich chocolate, jammy berry notes, barrel, and nuttiness. Excellent mouthfeel to boot!

    Cheers, friends :beers:

Drinking a local brew-Alibi Kölsch from Incline Village NV and watching the pregame bullshit. Let’s start this thing already!

    In the meantime, here is my review;
Purchased at my local grocery store. Canned on August 10, 2023 (I really don’t care about freshness as long as the beer is in cold storage).
Look: Light, bright, clear yellow. Lots of head. 4.5
Smell: Light and grainy. Decent enough. 3
Taste: Starts off malty and finishes with a good bitterness. Very easy to drink and quite refreshing. 4
Feel: This is what kinda kills the beer for me. Very thin in the mouth. Terrible. 1.75
Overall: I am not a Kölsch fan but I found this beer to be enjoyable besides the poor in mouth feel. This is one that I would recommend to macro drinkers and lager fans.

Alright, I’ve noticed that Discord decided to fuck all its users and break down the image links after all. This Salt Flats Kilted Harley will serve as the Guinea Pig for my new image hosting site. Cheers!

Edit: That didn’t go so well…
Edit 2: Ok there. I think I need another beer now…

Yes, Todd shut down the Discord links a few weeks ago, so picture hosting has to be done through third party sites until BA ever is able to complete the picture hosting direct capabilities as Untappd.

    Cheers!

Oh ok. He told me before that it would be Discord breaking down their own links, so I guess he launched a preemptive strike if you will! :beers:

Live Oak Hefeweizen is good shit. Are we getting their stuff regularly, now, or was this just a rando drop? The Vienna lager is really good, too.

Where did you buy it? We got a pretty big drop of it back during GABF, but I haven't seen it since. Could be a new drop or it could be the store (or the distributor) still selling that batch from October.

Sorry, forgot about this. Superior had a big drop, but I just bought their last sixer of amber lager tonite (shit is so good). They had the hefe, the Vienna, the pre-war pils and a weizenbock. I loved the first three. Weizenbock's will never be my thing, lol.

Those weren't the beers that landed during GABF, so I guess we got another one! That's great news. I've noticed we seem to similarly get rando drops from Great Notion and Three Floyds, although only certain flagship items. Live Oak's stuff is all pretty damn good. Never had their weizenbock, but I like most examples of the style. At least I like the ones based loosely on Aventinus. The pale ones can be hit and miss for me, but gimme the brown ones any day.

Looks like some Racer 5 just showed up in town. I don't think I've seen any recently. Used to be a big fan of it and Racer 10 (which I randomly tried and loved at some random bar up in Nederland many years ago).

Anyone had Racer 5 recently? Seems to be mixed feedback since Drake's acquired them.

I don't think I've had Bear Republic anything in more than a decade. Racer 5 and Big Bear Black stout were some of my faves way back when, but I'd imagine that those recipes are long gone. Kinda like when Green Flash comes back to life every few years and the beers taste totally different.

I received my Nevada Craft Beverage Passport Glass this weekend, plus a second bonus glass and other swag from the Nevada Department of Agriculture based like this brewery out of Sparks. It's a fun program to visit ten breweries, wineries or distilleries in 2024 that I hope returns. if you try to hit all in a region or throughout the state more extensive awards are offered.

This beer was from my January Vegas trip. Canned November 27, it has held up well over time. I will enjoy my final glass soon and feature my bonus pint glass next time.
