    Good Morning gents and gals,

I will be moving to So Cal in a few months due to the military and looking for some great bottle shops and breweries that I can frequent for the 3 years that I will be stationed in Camp Pendleton. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys and look forward to sharing a pint with you all!!

First, thank you for your service. Next, Pizza Port San Clemente and Pizza Port Solano Beach are great. You're 30-45 minutes from a lot of great breweries in San Diego, including Stone, Ballast Point, Lost Abbey, Green Flash, and AleSmiths. There's a also a ton of microbrews including Rough Draft that you can find with a quick google. An hour away you have Alpine, too. Not sure of good bottle shops in the area, but I can give you a list of Orange County bottle shops (all within 45 minutes) if you'd like. Welcome to SoCal (I'm from there).

I think that Texas Wine and Spirits and Pizza Port Bottle Shop, both in Carlsbad, are the best closest to Pendleton bottle shops, IMO. Bevmo in Oceanside has a good selection too.

In downtown Oceanside, there is a Stone store on Tremont; a new craft beer bar on PCH called Surfside TapRoom, a few blocks south is Breakwater Brewery/Pizza and soon to open a few blocks down from there is Bagby Beer Co (hope it opens by July).

Welcome to So Cal! The place is crowed but the weather is spectacular! Also, the beer scene is great! Churchill's Pub, in San Marcos, is probably a 20 minute drive from Pedleton's south gate. The place is a bit of a dive but the beer selection is top notch (they, quite often, have cask ales available).
