    Hello All,

I am moving to Charlotte from Chicago by year end. Wondering what brewery I should hit up. Also, let me know if there is a tasting group, I would like to get together and can bring stuff from floyds out.

All of them! Seriously. They all have something good to offer (well, at least most do).

    Olde Mecklenburg
    Birdsong
    Noda Brewing
    Triple C
    Heist (more brewpub than brewery)
    Unknown Brewing (coming soon)

Thanks for throwing the site up there!

coffygrinder, there are many groups that do tastings around town -- and there are usually lots of events going on at any given time. As NoMoreBeerBelly mentioned, each brewery really does have something unique to offer. NoDa and Birdsong are literally right beside each other, and Heist is about a mile down the road. There are some good bars around NoDa, too, and the area is really just a fun place in general.

Olde Mecklenburg and Triple C are both in the SouthEnd area. The former brews some of the best German styles in the US, and Triple C has a really great lineup of beers (I'm a big fan of their Smoked Amber).

In addition to NoMoreBeerBelly's list, I'll add Four Friends and Ass Clown. Four Friends is just recently added a taproom, but check their Facebook page before heading out as they're not often open. Ass Clown is north of Charlotte about 30 minutes in Cornelius. Some people love their stuff and others not so much, but it's worth a drive out there to see what you think. The taproom is a really cool, eclectic spot.

Charlotte is also home to lots of great beer bars and bottle shops. I'm sure you'll start to find your way around town once you move down, but if you have any questions, just ask!

Pretty sure if you bring a case for Marine1975 he'll invite you to all his events.

I moved to Charlotte from Jacksonville, FL about a year ago. Have not regretted the decision once.

Beyond the breweries, you also have awesome bottle shops like Brawleys, Salud, Good Bottle, Common Market. Also, some awesome restaurants that have great taps like Duckworths, Macs Speed Shop, Taco Mac, Common Market again, etc.

Honestly, I've lived here a year and haven't done everything beer related yet. Charlotte is a beer playground.

Agree with all stated above...Charlotte has become a great place to enjoy great beers. In addition to the above, in Matthews we now have Sankey's which has 10 NC/Charlotte drafts, Carolina Beer Temple, and Moe's BBQ all which have great taps.
