me and the lady are moving to naperville in a couple of weeks. We will be close to Naperville North H.S.. So we are close to Binnys...solid. Anyways, we know and love Solemn Oath, just kind of curious if any B.As know of anywhere else we need to check out...pizza suggestions are welcome too.
Al's Pizza in Warrenville. Total dive, but great thin (cracker) crust tavern style pizza. Uncle Pete's for a more traditional Chicago party style thin crust and deep dish/stuffed. Lou's Malnati's downtown Naperville for the OG deep dish action.
Right on everyone. Thats the second vote ive had for Al's pizza this week. Im sure ill make it to Penrose as well. Im from the area "somewhat" south of Aurora by about 50 minutes Just moving closer for work. Just didnt know if there were some hidden gems. Thanks all!
The Bavarian Lodge in Lisle. Warren's Ale house near Danada Wheaton World of Beer in Naperville has some good beers. (Plus you can grab some shawarma from Naf Naf in the same plaza, and have a nice meal to go with the beers.)
All great suggestions thus far! I second Warren's Ale House and The Bavarian Lodge. GREAT spots. Two Brothers Roundhouse in downtown Aurora is cool. I also frequent the Tap House Grill in Oswego. It's about 20mins west but a great tap list and food. Better than the Tap House Grill in Plainfield. Sovereign in downtown Plainfield is another great spot. It's a 'gastropub' and very 'farm to table' type deal. Awesome food menu and tap list. The place is small, but worth the wait. LOU MALNATI'S PIZZA!!! That's all you need to know. Oh, I went to Naperville North H.S.
Avoid d bags. Just playing, Naperville will have plenty of stuff. Jackson Ave is a solid place that hasn't been mentioned. I'd also suggest Emmetts in Wheaton. Warrens is excellent. Bavarian Lodge is the one the best in the state. You'll have a binnys nearby on Ogden as well.
Another vote for Jackson Ave Pub. Good rotating tap list and great burgers. Bavarian Lodge takes the cake though. Awesome beers and great German food. Welcome to Naperthrill!
Penrose would be my suggestion hands down. IMO their stuff is much better than Solemn Oath. While you're in Geneva for Penrose, go to Pal Joey's for pizza. If you're craving Mexican food (can't believe I'm sharing my spot!) El Taco Grande in Batavia is the jam. People will tell you Bien Trucha is the best...blah blah blah. I prefer my Mexican food in no-frills manor.
I am out in Geneva and will throw in a few suggestions, that I did not see mentioned. Geneva: Geneva Ale House Nobel House - Solid bar food, with a good tap list Preservation Bread and Wine - Restaurant Niche - One of the best beer lists in the suburbs IMO and you can buy to go Batavia: Gammon Coach House - I have not seen this spot mentioned a lot but its great and they usually have some hard to find beers on tap
Niche in Geneva has a bottle share every Wednesday night. Also on Wednesday, it is half off drafts and any bottles above 22oz.
Grew up in Naperville, Check out Your Neighbors on 75th street near the DMV. Usually a good beer selection (not great bu they have FFF), good food, nice atmosphere and not really "known" by a lot of people so its pretty fun.
