Ok I'll admit that headline is a little click-baity but my fiancée and I are moving from NYC to Raleigh in about a week and I'll be bringing a not insignificant amount of NYC/NE Hops with me.

Was wondering if any friendly locals would be interested in meeting up to do a beer share, or could point me to some favorite local spots (both stores and bars)... basically to help us get the lay of the land.

I'll have tons of Other Half, Grimm, Interboro, etc. cans to share. Also my dad lives in Maine and is the architect for one of the Maine Beer guys so if you've ever wanted to try Dinner or anything from Bissell I'm a good person to know. Haha.

Honestly though just looking for some good people / friendly faces to help us get settled in our new home. We're moving to the Mordecai area if that helps at all.

Cheers and see you all...correction: y'all soon.

Always welcome to SAMs bottle shop in Durham which is just about 20 mins away from Raleigh! Always can have shares there!

Welcome to Raleigh! Not a whole lot in the Mordecai area for beer (lots of pretty historic homes though), but you are close to downtown and plenty of options within 2 or 3 miles!

Many local bottle shops have formal and informal bottle shares. I am sure you will find plenty of people to share your NE goodies with! If you have any questions about the area or want to get together for a beer one saturday afternoon, let me know!

    Cheers

I bartend at Ruckus in Morrisville, just south of the airport. We have a great beer list on tap, plus several WW sours in bottles.
Nearby is a bottle shop called Bottle Revolution RDU (there are a few of them in the triangle), they have great tap takeovers and lots of Bottle shares.

You will be very close to Oak & Dagger at Seaboard Station. They have a bottle shop in addition to their Brew Pub. You are also close to Lynnwood Brewing, Neuse River, Nickle Point, Sub Noir, Big Boss. Also close are Trophy, Busy Bee, Raleigh Times, State of Beer, Flying Saucer, Stags Head, North Street Beer Station, Tasty Beverage, Raleigh Beer Garden, Woody's. A little further away are two very good bottle shops, Ridgewood (with a great tap selection) and Bottle Revolution (Lake Boone Trail).

Great neighborhood and there are lots of things close (but not many that would be walkable as someone who has also lived in NYC). @dmwcpa does a nice nice of listing out bunches of places.

Mordecai is a great area to be moving to. I live near downtown as well and enjoy Tasty Beverage Company. I would also recommend both Trophy Brewing locations and Lynnwood. I would also be open to drinking or trading for some of the NE Hops.

Welcome welcome. Pelagic will probably end up being the closest bottle shop to you and possibly walking distance depending on what side of the neighborhood you're on, but definitely biking distance at least. No idea about if there are ever shares there.

But my favorite shops in town are Ridgewood, State of Beer, Tasty Bev, and Bottle Rev. All are in the downtown area and no more than a 10 minute drive from you.

There are some really good spots to eat near you too I will also mention, both for something like breakfast or for a nice farm to table dinner.

PM if you wanna grab a beer and get ready for short sleeves in January!

I know Pelagic does bottle shares on one Sunday or a couple Sundays a month, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure Facebook or Instagram can provide better info.

    And welcome to Raleigh, @OtherHalfHearted!
