Yes. I liked it quite a bit, although to be fair, I kinda like it, generally. I got it at Roll Out The Barrel and have had it a couple times since at the cafe and while it is "rummy", I think the extent to which it is so is a bit overblown, imho. To directly answer the question, I thought it was even less so in the bottle, but it's so different drinking it at my house than it is at the bar that it's tough to say that for certain

The barrel fest at bells, the other guys I was there with agreed with me, pure rum bombs!

Had it at Eccentric Day, and it was a rum bomb then as well.

I recall a thread shortly after Roll out the Barrel talking about just this topic; several people characterized it as a "rum bomb"; several others thought it was pretty good. One of the people I was there with didn't like it, but pretty much everyone else in our group did (myself included). That's the thing about opinions... Of course, some folks characterize their opinions as such while others confuse theirs with facts, but that's a topic for another day, I suppose.

I didnt like it, because I not a fan of straight rum and this seemed close to that. I dont do well with straight liquor, so I might not be the best person to give an opinion. I think most of the people I was with didnt care for it in its current state, just too intense. There is a good chance the barrel characteristics will subside because that is how barrel aged beers usually age. I am interested to see how it ages, although I dont know I will seeing as I dont have any bottles.

I hope you didn't confuse me post with my opinion, that's all it was, although with so many others agreeing with the rum bomb title I think my opinion holds a little more merrit here...

I recall my pours where initially boozy, but as it warmed the balance came out. I guess I need to find others who concur to validate my subjective review, though.

If you seriously didn't detect a massive rum aroma/flavor on that beer you need to clear out your nostrils bud

I had it at Roll Out the Barrel & I don't recall it being a massive rum bomb but it was also towards the end of my tastings so maybe that had something to do with it. I remember liking it so I grabbed a couple of bottles today.

FYI...2 bottle limit on this at the General Store

This beer is heavy on the rum, no doubt, but I do not find the flavor to be obstructive. There is not an overwhelming heat, I think the flavor end up matching well with a big porter.

I am a liquor drinker, prefer my whiskey neat, that may be something worth considering when taking my opinion into account.

    Sadly I didn't pay attention but I believe it's $17-$18 per 750ml bottle

Did anyone notice that there are two labels on each of these bottles? Does this have anything to do with the Le Bretteur issue?
