I wasn't able to camp out before openings so didn't get a single variant and this market got shafted on variants especially coffee but regular out of the gate is straight chocolate, bourbon, smoky deliciousness.

 

Any places get their allotment today and still have some?

 

Well, according to the man working at Westside Liquor in Waite Park, the St. Cloud metro isn't getting any this year. I will check where I got my bottle last year, and see if they're getting any.

 

Coborns Clearwater already got it, and it sold out right away. Looks like I'm SOL this year.

Agreed. Don't wait for a special event to open a great beer. Make the beer the special event.

 

True Dat! Except you do it more than a couple of times and your gonna need a different beer than the BCBS. Vs in TX where apparently every day is BCBS day.

 

For those who may be questioning the quality and taste of the 2016, I had a bottle last night and I was not disappointed in the least. Far more chocolate forward than in previous years which I liked and the bourbon was smooth; the brew was oily, nearly no head retention and a bit smoky with a hint of tart fruit. I liked it a lot. Very good and better than previous years. For reference, I had 12 bottles of 2015 and one being infected. Oddly enough, it was my last 2015 bottle I drank and I was thinking I was going to skate out of the infected curse but it ended up down the drain...
