Live in NC but will be in Mt Prospect in mid-May for work. What are the best shops in the area? Also what beers will more than likely be on the shelf then? I'm dying to try a BCBS, would that be around? NC gets solid distro so interested in Ale Smith, 3 Floyd's, Deschutes, Half Acre, Firestone, GI, & any suggestions you might have. Thanks for any info.

prob wont' be able to find any BCBS left, that's been picked over for some time actually.

the others (depending on what you're looking for) should have some options.

A couple that I'd definitely look for are:
Revolution - all good, try for their barrel aged ones (3rd Year, Very Mad Cow, Straightjacket, etc...)
Pipeworks - they have a ton, but almost, if not all are very good
Spiteful has a pretty good stout called "GFY"

as far as placed to buy; there's a Binny's in Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, & Buffalo Grove. The AH/ Des Plaines would prob be closest. Also, check out The Liquor Barn in Wheeling

there's a few other good bottle shops arouns as well, but those should have most of what you're looking for

    Cheers

I don't think we get Ale Smith, but everything else you listed can be found.

Binny's is going to be your best bet overall. Unless you are willing to go into the city.

BCBS can be found in some small liquor stores that are selling it for $30 a 4 pack. Definitely try to get some Pipeworks though.

Here are some possibilities in the area:

Lively Liquor 1170 E. Higgins Road Elk Grove, IL 60007
Presitge Wine and Spirits 1471 Lee St., Des Plaines, IL 60018
Foremost Liquors 1776 W. Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, Illinois 60007

If you do want AleSmith, head about an hour west to Rockford (or so I hear).

The binny's in Des Plaines is right on the border of Mt. Prospect close to where I grew up and they are loaded with Pipeworks beers. Other than the locations the other folks mentioned, have also found Cardinal Warehouse in Niles to have a good selection, but all the above should be good for Half Acre and "some" Floyds. If you're looking for BCS, you prob want to set-up a trade...
