Re-starting a thread that started about a decade ago to see current opinions. My only caveat would be to add a distinct four w/ an honorable mention. I know that it's difficult, but it should lead to good conversation. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/mount-crushmore-of-classic-craft-beer-top-5.386510/
St Bernardus Abt 12 Pliny the Elder Heady Topper Hill Farmstead Everett Porter East Branch Riemer Pilsner (Honorable Mention) Cheers!
I have my fingers crossed that some other BA will list that beer as well. It is an excellent Quad IMO. Cheers!
Steam - Anchor Pale Ale - Sierra Nevada Scottish Ale - Bert Grant/Yakima Brewing Old Rasputin - North Coast First loser spot - None.
KBBS Rochefort 10 Pliny the Elder Rodenbach Alexander (H) 3F Cuvée Armand & Gaston I didn't have BCBS in there for two reasons: 1. I never had it pre-buyout; and 2. F*** AB-InBev.
All of you guys listing Belgian beers, please remember that this is the Mt. Rushmore of craft beers. Lafayette secured American independence, but you don't see his face carved into the side of a mountain. In the words of Dave Chapelle "This is America. Speak American."
Old Rasputin Pliny the Elder Edmund Fitzgerald Spotted Cow Honorable mention to 450 North fruit smoothies that were advertised as over 8% abv and tested at less than 3%
The Australian Mount Rushmore (let's call it Mt Kosciuszko): Crankshaft by Bentspoke Brewing. Hands down the best Australian IPA. Pale Ale by Little Creatures. The OG Australian craft beer, Pacific Ale by Stone and Wood. The beer that made Galaxy hops a superstar. Australian-brewed Foster's Lager. Rare as hen's teeth. HM: Coopers Pale Ale and Coopers Sparkling Ale, for keeping the independent beer flame burning during the dark times. Cheers!
SN BA Narwhal bissel brothers Swish Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald 3 Sheeps Wolf Honorable Mention SN Bigfoot
Just my opinion but should Heady and Pliny be on there since their distro is more limited ? You cant get Pliny on the east coast or Heady on the west coast. Problem is I dont have anything to replace them with. Sam Adams Boston Lager and SN Pale Ale are locks though.
