Other than the popular Quelque Chose, what are some other beers that can be mulled. I tried a recipe with Troges Mad Elf and it didnt turn out so good. Looking to experiment with some others.

    Ideas?

After speaking with a homebrewer friend who actually tried to brew a beer with the intention of mulling, he tells me that it's not easy. Looks like I'll stick with Quelque Chose unless I hear otherwise, here.
    Thanks.

You could Try Kasteel Rouge or Trader Joe's Vintage Ale.

I'm referring primarily to the Leifman's Gluhkreik I saw on the shelves recently and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with "warmed" beers as part of their holiday traditions. The label claims that the beer is supposed to be heated to a temperature akin to mulled wine or cider and served in a similar fashion. In Belgium, warmed beer like this are served at Christmas festivals. It seems like a pretty festive idea, is it worth the trouble or should I just stick with one of the many other colder (but delicious) Christmassy options available?

Traditionally Wassail is a warmed beer and wine mixture with many other ingredients added, I've had some that we're pretty tasty. As far as just straight beer goes the only one I have drank warm is Unibroue Quelque Chose which states on the label that it can be enjoyed warm or cold. I found it to be enjoyable both ways, hope this helps.

I had a warmed sour beer at Cascade Barrel House, it was surprisingly delicious. I think it really depends on the beer though, could be a gamble. Maybe only try a little bit before you warm the whole thing.

I actually like to serve Unibroue Quelque Chose both chilled and microwave warm (at the same time). It is almost like serving two different beers when done both ways.

Whatever beer you do serve warmed, make sure it isn't a beer with the word "ice" in the title.

I will try mixing beers, i will try dropping sliced onions in my beer, and I will even try maple bacon loco Dorito flavored beer, but I'm 99% sure I will not be heating my beer to drink it.

Southern Tier 2XMAS is modeled after a swedish glogg. Those are warm, maybe give that a go?

Never personally been a fan of anything warm and alcoholic.

I have had the Quelque Chose at a recent tasting warmed to 120 and it was exceptional.

I think I may try it with NG enigma on Christmas morning.
