Munchies: "You Should Stop Drinking Ice-Cold Beer"

    I always ask if they can pout it into a freshly washed still warm glass. Oddly enough while I used to get some weird looks...I get those far less lately. Perhaps it's that I'm no longer in my 20's and people figure I'm just weird or maybe people realize that ice cold beer is not something people want who drink good beer.

    Are babies really this fragile? I mean you can drop them without any real damage to them, but slightly cool temps are that extreme?

    Oh ya upstate NY doesn't do AC. My son was stationed at Ft Drum and he spent a few months roasting to death thru July and Aug, And then freezing to death from Oct thru May. Without AC life isn't worth living.

    an annual conversation as a kid in the summer:

    me: it's so hot. We should get AC.
    mom: We have fans
    me: but fans only ...
    mom: shh
    me: ...make it hotter
    mom: shh
    me: why do you hate us?
    mom: go in the river to cool off

    edit: when I was 12, I found a dead body in that river. I assume this is when my mom stopped making that suggestion. Assume.

    Me too pal. Although I drink a lot of Stouts/Porters in the cooler months, IPA's are still my #1 beer of choice. And I like them cold to start, 20-25 mins in the freezer ice bin before opening (although I don't like them in frozen mugs). I always laugh to myself when I hear or read "you can't taste the beer when it's that cold". Well guess what....maybe you can't, but I CAN !
