Hello to all This is my first forum post and I hope to be in this community for a while. However, the first thing that came to my mind was a doubt regarding a glass. I'm referring to the Munique glass. I have not been able to find information regarding the specific styles that suit this glass, whether it is here on beeradvocate or other sites, or youtube videos. I would like to know which are the main traits of this glass and hence, what styles of beer are recommended for it. I hope it's not a bother. Thank you very much in advance. David
Assuming you mean the glass linked below, it is pretty versatile. Mostly I think of IPA's and Belgian golden ales for this style glass, but stouts and wheats wouldn't be terrible either. Heck, it would even work for a sour. I wouldn't put a pilsner in it though. ( https://www.google.com/search?q=Mun...UIBygB&biw=1242&bih=606#imgrc=_HFU779UzvrYMM: )
I used to have a similar shaped glass branded by Zatec (Czech pilsner). I didn't drink any pilsners with it though. I mostly used it for saisons and Belgian tripels. I agree with the above that it is pretty versatile.
Definitely a versatile glass, the fluting/flaring helps with the aromatic qualities of most beers for sure.
Welcome! That glass will work well for almost all types of ales. It is very versatile, as already mentioned. I wouldn't use it for lagers but it's all a matter of personal preference. Try out a few different types of beers with the glass and see for yourself what you like and don't like about it.
Just googled it - that's just a tulip isn't it? I know a true and proper tulip flares a bit more at the mouth, but the glass labeled a 'tulip' in my Libbey set is identical to what I'm seeing here.
Wow, thank you very much for your replies, what a cool community this is. Now I gotta go grab a beer and do some testing, c ya guys later.
