Is there a reason that murda seems to be commanding a much higher trade value than baller? They seem to be made of the same relative ingredients. Looking for some Input as I hope to try one or both at some point.
Murda'd out is barrel aged, Baller is not. Baller was sold at the FFF 15th Anniversary party in higher numbers than Murda'd, which was also brewery-only but sold at the carry-out. Murda'd was $50 retail with a limit (can't recall if it was 1 or 2/pp, but around there). The components of Baller were separately barrel aged then blended. Just my thoughts - was lucky enough to have Murda'd in November/December and IMHO it's already falling off (assuming it wasn't overly oxidized to begin with). There are many, many better BA stouts out there that take less to score. But that's just my extra 2 cents.
There was a bunch of Baller recently released again around the time that Dark Lord Day tix were on sale so I'm sure that recent influx has changed the value as well
Murda'd Out >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Baller. But I think Murda'd Out peaked about a half year ago. Was absolutely worth $50 fresh (though I passed up both opportunities to buy it at the brewpub).
I think I am in the maaaaaaajor minority who enjoyed baller more than murda'd. Ya, I know, there is something wrong with me. Only had them once each. Insert Mark's fav emoticon
Murda'd Out has fallen off of a cliff. Baller felll off a cliff a long time ago. Those beers are done IMO.
We had Murda'd in March. I thought it was not great then. OK but oxidizing and generally not great. I think with most blended stouts. Best to drink them fresh. They are blended to taste and probably will only go downhill from there.
