Just wanted folks to know that both bottles of Deschutes Murder in the Rye I picked up from the brewery a few months back were both infected and it's not a sour stout. Pretty bummed; I bet it would have been a stellar beer otherwise. Unless they have multiple batches buyers beware! Bottle date 12/16/15
Haven't...figured it was bottled so long ago they have to know by now as long as anyone in Bend actually drinks the beers, but it's a good idea! I'll email em.
Always a good idea to notify the brewery of infected beer. If nothing else, they may refund and/or send you a shirt/glass/etc
Emailed em tonight. I love their beers but how could they serve it on tap and know that it's that off?
Ah...a rep from the brewery sent me a really nice long email about the beer and how good it was fresh. They offered a refund, which I never really expected (I figure it's always a crapshoot with BA beers and keepers beware) but it was great to see such great customer service from a brewery I love. Just makes you want to come back for more!
