Just wanted to make a post about just how awesome the Murray's IPA Dinner last night was.

For me it really set a benchmark for how creative and passionate brewers can be, and how well beer can be paired with a food (the spicy Thai food was a great complement to the beers).

It also set an insane new standard for Australian brewers.

    There were a total of
    2 x IPAs
    2 x 1.5 IPAs
    1 x Black DIPA
    1 x Wild DIPA
    2 x DIPAs

All different. Just amazing to have an Australian brewery actually do something so bold. I really appreciated the effort that went into the dinner, and its quality. Really seemed to be an event which marked the progression of Australian brewing.

    Yeah it was truly excellent.

The Thai food was very, very good indeed and worked brilliantly with the IPAs.

There were no misses as far as I was concerned, but my standouts were:
    -Oak aged Icon
-Heart of Spartacus (Belgian Black IIPA in a similar vein to B2 Bomber, but better)
-The Filth (11%IPA brewed with Brett) for its pure brazenness and almost-drinkableness
-Ridiculoso (8%ish - according to Ian Watson supposedly lab measured at 141 IBUs)
    -Retro Rocket on cask.

The entire event was wholeheartedly pitched at the serious beer geek, which is a pretty fantastic gesture in my view.

Can't wait for the next one.
