How about Kid Rock's effort to market his music style by naming a beer for it - Badass Beer. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24888/61225/ It's not very crafty being an AAL, but it was contract brewed by several craft breweries here in Michigan over the years. Last rating is 2018, so it's no longer available.
Wonder if this is the same? Exclusive golden ale for their 50 something tour. Looking forward to their Forum shows. Cheers.
Even more obvious is the Staropramen Trey was drinking while being interviewed bc they were on tour in Europe I'm not very proud to admit I actually traded for that beer I thought it was funny and it was back in 2015 when he wasn't *quite* so bat-shit crazy. I got both bottles and cans. It tasted about how you would expect it to taste. I had the trader include other stuff of course like Short's.
I've forgotten their name, but I believe there's a sludgy, stoner metal band out of Portland that likes to incorporate their favorite local and regional craft beers into their videos. Maybe @vurt could help me out.
Sounds very much like Red Fang. Boneyard Beer features heavily in their video for "Rabbits In Hives," and Portland's Wayfinder Beer collaborated with the band to produce a malt liquor to coincide with the release of their "Arrows" album in 2021. (In stovepipes with 3 different labels, no less.)
Real Ale in Blanco, TX did a beer called Iron Swan Ale with a metal band in Austin called The Sword. Don't know the band but the beer was pretty good.
And maybe I missed it in the posts, but Dogfish Head has a couple Grateful Dead collabs out right now, an ale and a lager.
I forgot about that one; it slapped. Best malt liquor I've ever encountered; I love Wayfinder. Lots of other music-themed beers from them. "Crusher Destroyer" was a rauchbier named after an early Mastodon track.
There's also Russian Circles (Czech dark lager), BeYOB (a doppelbock brewed for the doom metal band YOB), and Fairlight (an IPA presumably named for the legendary digital sampler/workstation from the 80s). Crusher Destroyer was one of Wayfinder's best beers.
Hammerheart Brewery formerly Lino Lake,MN now Ely,MN, Takes its name from a Batheroy album name. They also front the Panopticon band .
The video for Prehistoric Dog shows a general love for beer and a unique approach to repurposing. Made before most craft was in cans, so forgive the macro branding
When Dale’s Pale Ale first came out in cans in 2005, they collaborated with the “World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band,” the Supersuckers. Oskar Blues was selling “12-Packs that include a seven-song sampler of music from Seattle’s legendary rock band, the Supersuckers” https://probrewer.com/beverage-indu...beer/oskar-blues-expands-cans-into-northwest/
Funny that you mention the Zappa beer, I saved an empty bottle and just found it while packing. Now I have to find it again.
Mastodon are the total *****s of beer collabs. They’ve been intimate with at least 4 breweries that I know of. Wish they’d collab with a brewery in our hometown.
