Must haves: Wisconsin Beers

    Milwaukee Brewfest is again upon us and I can't wait. Also excited to hit the Local Liquor shop for the best of the best of the best (SIR) of the local breweries. Suggestions please. What are the must pick ups this summer in the WI ? I prefer Bombers but also will go 6 pack. Thanks !

    Bedlam from Ale Asylum. You'll only be able to get it in a sixer.

    Fo sho. Any specialties to be on the look out for ? I would say New Glarus, Oso and Ale Asylum in general are givens for me.

    Any of their fruit beers are a must. Wisconsin Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart are two of the best beers I've ever had.

    But honestly, all of their beers are solid in my experience.

    Any New Glarus beer but especially any of their wheat beers. Definately Dancing Man. NG is probably one of the best breweries for wheats.

    Hinterland Maple Bock and Lunar Coffee Stout are very good. Anything Central Water and Lake Louie are pretty good as well

    If you can still find New Glarus IIPA, get some. It's one of my favorites. Otherwise Dancing Man Wheat is great!

    I second the IIPA, though probably not that fresh, I bet it's still delicious.

    Osakar Blue Dales IPA and Deviant Dale (I know-they are CO but we don't get distribution in the Chi).
    New Glarious Thumprint Imperial IPA (Surprisingly this batch was plentiful)
    Ale Asylum Hopolicious and Bedlam
    BOOM ! Love Milwaukee Brewfest (all though they ran out to fast) and the WI Craft industry.

    I second the NG IIPA recommendation. NG Black Top (Black IPA) is another winner and is available in sixxers. Lakefront Brewing has some interesting Bombers to look for ... IBA, Fixed Gear, Bridge Burner.
    Capital Brewing Autumnal Fire is a great Mairzen/Dopplebock combo. Doesn't come out 'till September so anything on the shelves now is last year's release (still good, ages well at 8.5% ABV). Have fun!!

    No mention of tyranena beers? Hop ***** should be showing up on shelves soon. They have lots of solid year around beers too.

    Lets not forget Lakefront beers! The riverwest stien beer is a phenominal beer that seems to fly under the radar.
