I drink a lot of Founders Dirty Bastard these months, and I'd drink even more Backwoods if possible. Red's Rye is another one I love to "treat myself" with, and I do more "treating" this season than any other, but that cost increase.. :slight_frown:

Huh? There's no holiday porter this year. You will not know it.

St. Bernardus at the top with a steady supply of Celebration Ale, Merry Maker Gingerbread Stout, and Mad Elf behind it.

My guess is it would be very difficult to get a 6pk of KBS. It'd come as a surprise anyplace thatd sell it like that. My understanding is places that do sell kbs sell it in singles or if lucky a 4pk. Ive never even seen kbs on shelves before but from what i gather the places that do get it sell it as singles. Morethan likely your best bet is just try to try founders regular breakfast stout

My winter beer is a weird one..always look forward to Chimay blue label this time of year. Good friend of mine brought a bottle by some years ago, having some of that was like kicking the door to the world of good beer open with a mack truck...leaving it in splinters on the floor! Since this happened around Christmas time, the beer and the time of year have always been linked. I also like Sams winter lager and the Celebration Ale.

Great Divide Hibernation, hands down. So complex and delicious. Will seek out Highland Cold Mountain as well, a local NC beer.

Others I've tried and like are Celebration, GI Mild Winter, Odell Isolation, and my local NoDa Brewing's winter beer (blanking on the name). I'm not including any seasonal stouts or anything, but there are some of those.

Went to a "Winter Warmers and Holiday Brews" beer tasting the other day and, although it did not include most of the usual suspects, most of us thought that the highlight of the night was Heavy Seas Yule Tide. It's an Imperial Red aged in Jamaican Rum barrels.

The thread isn't ended. Has anyone mentioned Samichlaus yet? That one is a tradition.

I noticed that a lot of the Holiday ales I drink aren't really highly rated (Bell's Christmas, Anchor, etc) aren't highly rated. I wonder what are the best Holiday ales?
