I always have a 2-year vintage of Sly Fox Christmas Ale on Christmas day with our large meal around lunch time. Aside from that, anything goes.

Last year did the 12 Pliny's of Christmas. Had a fresh Pliny everyday from the 13th till the 25th.

Just curious, how long has that tradition been going on w/ your fiancé...Or should I ask, how long is she gonna let that tradition go on as your "fiancé" & not your wife? Just kidding Bro, hold out as long as you can!!! Cheers & Happy Holidays...You're my hero!!!

I split a bottle of New Glarus Belgian Red with my wife on Christmas Eve when the kids hit the bed.

I just came here to say Mad Elf absolutely destroyed me last weekend. Someone was irresponsible enough to bring a full case to a party. I had only three in the span of a couple hours and things started to get blurry, haha. It's dangerously delicious - laced with sticky, dark fruit flavors and a sturdy amount of booze.

Be careful with this one, my friends.

This will be the 4th year now. Haha it's cool. She loves craft beer too so it will never end for me. She enjoys a good beer just as much as me! Thanks and Happy Holidays to you too!

OoOoo! Good question! Honestly, I have to agree with quite a few people on this thread and say that I have a strong preference for the Belgian's holiday beers. With that being said:

    1. Delerium Noel. I know almost everyone lists this, but honestly.. I look forward to it every year and that says a lot!
    2. Kasteel Winter. I was a little surprised about this, especially since it's my first year having it (or of it even being out), but honestly.. it's deliciously tasty! I could so have a couple of these on a super cold night and be in heaven.
    3. Scaldis Noel. I've noticed, having read quite a few of the posts in this thread, that this is a hit or miss for people, but having had it just last week I can safely say it's super duper delicious this year!
    4. Dieu du Ciel Solstice d'Hiver (I know it's from Belgium!). I'm not a huge barleywine fan, but something about this brew does it for me.
    5. St. Bernardus X-Mas. It just seems to get better and better every year.
    6. Hardywood Park (from Richmond, VA!) Gingerbread Stout. If any of you can get your hands on this.. last year's wasn't spectacular, but this year's more than lived up to its hype! *Absolutely* delicious. I make a trip south on 95 (anyone living in Northern VA, DC, and Maryland knoooooooooooows how bad *that* is) every holiday season just for this beer.. it's that good. :grinning:

I've had a number of domestic holiday beers, and while some are good, I'm just not feeling a whole lot of them-- but, I'm also limited by being in Virginia on getting a couple of the breweries that do have awesome holiday beer :-/

Very nice, a girl who enjoys craft beer. There aren't too many of those, so you got yourself a keeper!!!

I know this has been mentioned a couple of times in the thread but I have to give another shoutout for Great Lakes Christmas Ale. I'd been turned off to Christmas beers before trying it and I can definitely say that one renewed my faith in them.

Haha she is definitely a keeper! Our group in general is lucky. My one friend's wife really likes craft beer and quite a few of our female friends love it too.

Looking to take something good to a Christmas party. I've had the 2xmas, Adoration, 12 Dogs of Christmas, Belgian Freeze and a few others. Haven't found anything that jumps out and says "take me". I have enjoyed them all though. Any suggestions? I have a Hoppin Frog to try this weekend so maybe that'll be the one.

Duvel. What better beer to bring to a party for a holiday named after the Lord, than a beer named after the Devil?
