Since when are Porters not Ales? Baltic Porters are typically Lagers, but Alpha Klaus is not a baltic porter to the best of my knowledge.

This beer is one of my favorites, a little stout in my opinion, but not much, perfect for the holidays!

Other than the obvious ones that were immediately mentioned (St Bernadus, Celebration), I really enjoyed the Anderson Valley Winter Solstice I had last week.

Also Sam Adams has some damn fine winter brews. Old Fezewig, Gingerbread Stout

If you like spice, Southern Tier 2Xmas is the ticket. So far, the best holiday ale I've had. Great Lakes, Troegs, RJ Rockers and a few others I have, but not yet tried.

We'll be having an Olde Hickory Lindley Park, A Highlands Cold Mountain and Tripel Karmeleit in the regular moments. Plus others and nice wine, mostly sparkling.
