Skull Splitter takes the cake in my mind. Like it more than even backwoods bastard - which is great, too.

It was mentioned above, but definitely warrants another mention.

Traquair House Ale is top notch in my book.

Looked it up and it looks like the TW I often go to has it, stopping tommorow to pick up a 4 pack!

and the Bourbon Barrel Aged Drafty Kilt is now available in 22 oz portions…

but one of my "early" stepping out of the macro beer cult was Belhaven Scottish Ale. Fantastic, clean, and reasonably easy to find. I don't drink it often enough anymore...

I will again reiterate on the Traquair House Ale. Try their Jacobite as well, but the House Ale is better in my book. Wee Heavys and Old Ales/Barleywines are my favorite styles.

It's not the best, but Berkshire Brewing Company's Scotch Ale is pretty solid, IMO

How has no one mentioned McEwan's yet? Still a classic and, for the price, I like it just as much as Backwoods/Dirty/Alesmith/Schlafly (draft-only, now), Skullsplitter, et al. It's a damn fine example of a 'bigger' style being done just right, without going over the top.

Wulver is my all-time favorite, and the (red wine) barrel-aged Scotch Silly is pretty good as well. Keep an eye out for an upcoming anniversary beer from Highland...

Didn't I catch someone saying they were importing McEwans again?

Skull Splitter is great, so is the Bastards, my favorite still has to be the Chub though.

Traquair Jacobite is the place to start and end.
