I have a great cellar in my basement that seems to maintain a temp of 50 degrees (during the winter in NY anyway) but unfortunately smells musty. There isn't any ventilation so I'm wondering if I can cellar/store beers in there or if the musty smell will affect the beers. Am I okay or should I look for another place to start my cellaring? Thanks all.

It's fine. I'd be more worried about breathing mold. Also not sure about corks

Sounds like the perfect place for loads of beer, wine, and liquor. Have fun, I'm jealous!

Thanks all. I'll move my very small collection in. Some 2015 Goose Island Barleywines, 2015 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, 2015 Narwhal, and 2015 North Coast Old Stock Ale.
