Wow. Sure you went to the right place? I was there from about 6:30. There were only 2 people in front of me in the bottle line when I got there. Tap line was a bit longer, may 5-10 minutes. No line at Stanly's. 10 minute from order to pizza. Lines never got longer than a short wait.

Yep, I was there. Left at 6, two hours after opening.

@hash_tagger announced multiple times that the MvB only line had 0 people in it while I was there from 5-6 PM. I thought the MvB only line was fast and well run, though I didn't see the initial line at 4 PM.
I'd also say the other bottles line was moving, but slower as is to be expected.
The tap room line was its normal self.
The crowd was not tiny, but it was small compared to what it could've been. Almost no one was sitting at JK tables, the taproom and bottles to go lines were normal length. The weather definitely kept people away. That or SXSW.

There was a little bit of a crowd early on, but the staff handled it great, and everything went smoothly.

Oh, and since this is about beer, the beer was AMAZING. To me, more cherry forward than Batch 1, and I plan on going back tomorrow to drink more!

I have a Repose soaked bull whip you can serate my backside with since your opinion is more accurate than mine.

I was surprised by the attendance with the weather. Granted this was just my 4th time at JK.

Showed up a little after 9. No bottle line and taproom had 2 people in front of me. My group was about #600 visitors of the night. Only a few showed up after me.

The beer is great, kinda surprised me as to how different it is from the recent batch 1 bottle I had. More cherries, less tart. Still great though, I'll be back for more tomorrow.

600th visitor? Or 600th buyer of mvb?

It is hard to imagine much of a difference between the two on a night like last night.

Bad weather briefly but stopped raining later in the afternoon. Good times. Sin Mint Temptress, BCBS, and War Monger on tap at Stanley's was killer. That Sin Mint...!

Finished the night at Pieous...pastrami coma!

I'd bet about 500-600 have been sold...maybe some visitors didn't buy it but I'm guessing you have to add some back in for the people that marked off their wrists and went back in line multiple times...

Nooo it must last! I'm hoping to get a bottle next Friday for my wedding. I opened batch 1 the night I proposed.

I think you're safe for friday, that's a very small minority that are aholes cheating the system.

I can confirm the new stamps wash off very easily. I only got my one bottle but if I was a bigger ahole I could have easily gone through a second time. Losers will always be losers and find a way to cheat the system though.

The ink stamps were a great step, and I'd bet they work for deterring most people (who might try) from getting multiples, who either don't want to (or don't know how to) wash it off. But some chemicals will dissolve ink, so it's imperfect like anything else.

The people selling bottles (who were doing a good job and keeping the line moving) would have to recognize people trying this, or depend on others to bring it to their attention.
It's been stated a better system could be used, but this would be a hassle to Jester King staff, and the majority of people who abide by the rules (longer waits).

It's up to JK to make any substantial decisions or changes, and the community can address it in a befitting manner if desired. Otherwise it will continue to happen (and it might still happen if people are called out), and there's not much else that can be done.

Hopefully it doesn't prevent anyone from enjoying the atmosphere and great beer out there. The main point should be hanging out with good beer and good people, and if a few people stink it up like acetobacter, don't let it sour your day.
    Cheers.
