Yes yes yes yes, yadayadayada. It has that fermented "sugar source-turned-alcohol" flavor haha.

    Those crafty Belgians.

Boulevard's Sixth Glass quad has a good fig/date flavor and is fairly reasonably priced for the style.

Westy 12 has amazing notes of plum, just really expensive/hard to get.
I agree with most that have been mentioned (especially Unibroue), but here are a few others:

    Malheur 12
    Nostradamus
And one of my favs: Gulden Draak

A great and very under-rated (IMHO) Belgian dark with nice dark fruit notes (and relatively easy to find, at least in the Philly area) is 21st Amendments Monks Blood. Think rum soaked figs, plums and raisins dusted with brown sugar.

Trade for a Raison D'Extra from DFH. It's outstanding, and it's brewed with a copious amount of raisins.

R10 works, but for me, Pannepot is the king of this flavor profile.

Conversely, St. Bernardus Abt 12 is probably way off.

I found this beer to taste far too prominently of anise to be enjoyable, but then again its a flavor I'm not a fan of.

You should try Gouden Carolus van de keizer (blue), Allagash Odyssey, St. Bernardus chrsitmas or try some German Doppelbocks like Ayinger Celebrator or Wehienstephaner Korbinian all of these beers are pretty readily available and should be easy to find.
